Recitals Recitals are FREE!

The University of Sydney Carillon is located in the clock tower of the
Main Quadrangle of the main campus. There are free Carillon recitals
every Sunday afternoon (usually at 2pm). The best place to listen is
in the southwest part of the quadrangle. (For a sample of what you can
hear, you can download some audio snippets).

Combining the enjoyment of the bells with a picnic on the lawn can be
great fun in fine weather. We only request that you remain silent
while recitals are in progress.

The bells may be inspected after the recitals. Access to the clavier
room is through the door on the eastern edge of the inside of the
quandrangle, about 30m to the north of the clock tower. Follow several
stairways as far as you can!

The Carillon is also played on Tuesdays at lunchtime (1 pm - 2 pm)
during University term. Visitors are allowed into the clavier room
during these lunchtime recitals. Arrangements can be made for the
Carillon to be played for weddings and other occasions.
Contact: Jill Forrest (9487 2386).
Inspection of the Carillon is also included in Guided Tours of the
University.
