Stefano and Anthony know each other as they are both part of the Edgeryders. Stefano and Giovani know each other through Airesis. And Giovani and Anthony don't know each other yet, but they should. It would be nice if each of you could write two lines presenting himself. Giovani was among the first person to use Vilfredo. In fact the idea at the base of Vilfredo came to me when we were preparing an EU grant (Eugager). The grant was not accepted, eventually we wrote a book from it. But this idea took a life of it's own. In the Vilfredo database Giovani is the 8th user! Stefano is very active in Italy with participatory budgeting. And had the chances to try out Vilfredo a couple of times. The last been this RENA summer school. And finally is very active in the UK promoting Democracy. Still it would be nice if each of you could add something more. :-)

Hello everyone,
I really feel part of Vilfredo and seeing its growth lately makes me very happy and hopeful that we will someday overcome the common barriers for online decision-making processes. As for EUGAGER, you can check the free e-book at the website http://eugager.tvgio.com/
Other info about myself is available at Google and LinkedIn :-)
Eager to hear from you,

cheers,
gs

Hi there

I run something in the UK called the Democratic Society, which is a small membership organisation that does experiments with local and national government (mainly) on how to connect citizens and the state in different ways. We also do research projects and write about participation and democracy.

Before that I was a civil servant for fourteen years, I worked in Whitehall (the central bits of the UK government like the Treasury and the Cabinet Office) for ten years then was Director of Strategy at the city council where I live in Brighton (on the south coast, due south of London).

As Pietro says, I am part of the Edgeryders network and try to do a fair few things in the rest of Europe, partly for the travel but also because seeing how the same ideas work in different places is fascinating.

Look forward to keeping in touch through Vilfredo.

Anthony

I should have added, we've got a few projects on the go at the moment, particularly one in Lewes that we're presenting at the World Forum on Democracy in Strasbourg in November, where we're trying to create a network of civic networks for democratic purposes.

Hi Anthony,
thanks for your presentation.

I forwarded it to Stefano Quintarelli who is in the Italian Parliament and I hope might be interested to connect on this. Stefano is part of this group, but is right now too busy to participate so he asked me to make his presentation which I will do shortly. Especially because he has some brave ideas on what we should aim with Vilfredo...

Do you think Vilfredo could be used by the Democractic Society to experiment the communication between participants. Considering the quite strict limits it has (20-30 people max). Maybe if we could let anyone present any idea, moderate them to avoid all the redundancy, so permitting 30 truly different approaches to one problem, and then getting 20 experts, it might work...

Cheers,
Pietro
