Yesterday I had some time off the internet, and with this time I could spend it reading a book on Open Source projects.
The book was suggested by me from Giovani (in the list), and it is really really good. By reading it I am realising the big distance there is from Vilfredo as it is now, and an Open Source community. And some how I am realising how many changes we would need to do for this to change. Until this changes it will be hard to attract new developers. And even if Derek is really generous and committed we need more hands to work. At least for the various front-end that should be developed.
You can find the 2005 version of the book
here:
And they are right now writing the newest version (it won the kickstart funds to do it).
I will keep on reading it, and I invite all the people in this list interested in Open Source projects to read it as well. The book also spells out a number of changes that we need to make (from writing good documentation, FAQ, ... to submitting the project to a list of open source projects, and so on).
If someone who wants to help with Vilfredo, after reading it wants to help Vilfredo with the passage (listing the actions we need to take, finding and following people for each of those actions, etc, ) the position is open :-). I think it would be a great way to help with Vilfredo and would not require the person to know how to code or to be good in designing front end...
