June 19th - a new meetup

Hello everyone,

It has been a while. Please come and join the group on June 19th at the Rotunda space on Douglas 1515 at 6pm. This is downstairs from the place we had the meeting last time and we will have more room there.

The topic is about building a modern web application with Spring Boot. Cory Sanoy will walk us through the process.

The presentation will include:

- building a calendar event web application from scratch during the presentation. 
- building a restful interface to a simplified calendar event micro server. 
- building a JPA interface to the calendar database for retrieval and update of event data.
- Javascript access to the event restful micro service.
- The use of Thymeleaf templating system to build calendar web app.
- The use of a calendar js library. 
- The use of webjars to package javascript libraries and package them inside of the web application jar file.

The application built will be a good example of a modern microservice and we plan to follow up with a "deployment and cloud infrastructure" talk later this summer.

There will be pizza and drinks provided by xMatters.
