Call for July & August Hike Leaders

Greetings Tuesday Hike Leaders and Prospective Hike Leaders,
Thanks to all who volunteered to lead our May and June hikes. It's now time to schedule our July and August hikes. There are 9 Tuesdays in July and August and we need both past leaders and new leaders to volunteer to lead one of these hikes.
Please check your July/August calendars and let me know when you are available to lead a hike. Maximum flexibility on dates is appreciated and I’ll make date assignments as soon as I get enough volunteers. July and August hikes need to be submitted to the PATC calendar by June 1. Our hike leader procedures are available under Hike Leaders at http://vigoroushikers.org/.

Tuesday, June 18 - Pine Grove Furnace, AT Museum, and Fuller Lake Splash Down. (PATC Map 2-3) We will explore the AT and some of the other trails in and around PA's Pine Grove Furnace State Park. There will also be an opportunity to visit the AT Museum and to cool off in Fuller Lake; about 15 miles with 3000 feet of ascent with shortcut options.

Tuesday, August 20 - Big Meadows Luncheon with Rose River Splash Down. (PATC Map 10) From the Rose River trailhead, we will visit President Hoover's Rapidan Camp before having lunch in the Spottswood Dining Room of Big Meadows Lodge. After lunch we will descend to the trailhead for a splash down in the Rose River; about 18 miles with 3100 feet of ascent with shortcut options.
