Bull Run Occoquan Trail (BROT) from Bull Run Marina Trailhead parking to HWY 28 and back

Location:  Meet at Bull Run Marina trailhead parking: 12619 Old Yates Ford Rd, Clifton, VA 20124

Distance:  Approximately 18.5 miles  (NOTE:  This is an out and back hike.  The route can be shortened by turning around sooner at your choice)

Elevation Gain/Loss: Approximately 2,300 feet.

Description:  We will start at the Bull Run Marina Trailhead Parking (not the boat ramp area). Hike down the hill on a paved path to the lake and continue north under the bridge at Yates Ford.  From there we will take BROT (blue blazed trail) to  the HWY 28 Bridge and back. 

Comments: 

• The hike will start promptly at 8:30 AM  Please arrive early to sign in and discuss the route.
• There is NO CARPOOL for this route as it is in town
• Because this is an out and back, it is a good hike for any who have been thinking of joining us but have some reservations about pace and distance. 
• Because this trail is simple, well worn and well blazed, no map will be provided.  There are online maps available by searching for the Bull Run Occoquan Trail.  It is not likely you will need one for this route.
