Job Description ---
The District launched a new DCPS website in August 2009 and will continue to launch new DC.Gov agencies using the Vignette content management system.
The
project team requires an architect/developer to support DCPS staff with the
design and development of additional content and functionality. The candidate
will also look for ways to develop templates and other web elements that can be
shared between DCPS and DC.Gov projects in Vignette.
The incumbent will build on a recently developed architecture. Responsibilities
include: Assists in further design of the new architecture (working with key
DCPS staff); participates in requirements gathering; codes all approved
changes; works with OCTO staff to test and implement changes; troubleshoots
issues and responds situations to maintain the integrity and availability of
the DCPS website; assists and advises on applications and databases integrating
into the new DCPS site infrastructure.
Consults with client or department heads to define need or problem, conducts
research, performs studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyzes problems to
advise on or recommend solutions, utilizing knowledge of theory, principles, or
technology of specific discipline or field of specialization. Requires knowledge
in fields defined as information technology, computer programming, computer
security, computer systems analysis, database management, information systems,
Internet applications and development, software development, and related
fields.
