@Martin
- try to install uEye Version 4.94 if not already done. You could check the installed version number in "IDS CameraManager".
This version will work for sure. I use it on different machines.
- do not forget first to first de-install the actual uEye - version on your system.
- always disconnect all camera during (de-)installation. And restart windows before the next step.
First, I tried 1 Kinovea using two acquisition windows. The frame rate was set to 120fps (delay mode, Kinovea display rate) and It worked, even with 120fps in both windows, but the processor peak load went up to 100% during video acquisition. The behavior that has been described by other users, that the recording speed is decreased by the system during acquisition, has not been observed. The system I use has the newest USB 3.1 Gen 2 controller and it seems to be that they give enough speed to acquire at the high frame rate of 120fps using 2 cameras. At acquisition, KINOVEA does not show any dropped frames and inspecting the video-file (MPEG) it is really recorded at 120fps.
As you mentioned to Waheeden, i switched using 2 Instances of KINOVEA in two separate directories (ZIP-Installation). Now, the load is evenly distributed to all 6 cores ab about 70-80% during acquisition.
However, the AutoIt-script is a little bit more complicated and the timing of the triggers (start-stop-recording) differs sometimes. It may be related to other processes inside windows. So far, I could not find the exact reason to that behavior.
- As you mention in another thread, a script language would be a very good extension to your program.
- Furthermore, to my impression it would be a very nice feature, to show a playback of the just acquired videos in separate windows that can be freely positioned on desktop or a second screen, adjusted by Rotation, Cropping and speed. To me it would be most interesting, to show a window as large as possible without any other features, due to the distance of the screen to the golfer of about 2m.
Hello again.
I must do something wrong, i have tried my fathers computer as well. All the computers follow the requirements, but the program will not start. Is there something more I should do to get this program starting? I have downloaded the file, installed the program, and it starts to start up and than...nothing. Just shuts down and windows tells me the program would not start.
Hi. I have tried all the versions. I my computer i only get the error report: "the program stopped working, looking for solution tio the problem".
This is the report windows 7 send:
Kilde
Kinovea
You could also read in the internet (youtube-channels et al) that there is no guarantee that windows programs not specifically compiled for ARM-processors are running on windows at the present time.
I therefore gave back the M1 and switched to the last i9-MAC.
Too sad.
Sorry to all Mac users but a this is an open source project free of charge for all users. There rather will be further development for the normal version. Especially as mac users have the possibility to install windows as dual boot.
I work with dartfish and this is an exciting development. I too would like to see a mac version. We shoot, record, edit everything in MAC then have to reboot to windows to do the analysis. When I am at a major world level sporting event the Mac laptops outweigh the PC laptops 6-1 and most of the mac users I have spoken to would rather have dartfish on the mac side rather than on the PC side. I would make a considerable donation to a MAC version just to get out of having to pay for dartfish and even more, to not have to reboot into windows...please.....
However, what I have personally seen is, that once this type of error occurs, it definitively is time to reinstall Windows from scratch. Expecially if the windows version is updated from an older version (i.e. Windows 8), I have found similar problems. Another reason I have seen are some "tools" - installation (these nice small programs we all like ) that replace important Windows-DLLs.
Since longer time, I always reinstall the system on a clean partition if windows shows a strange behavior.
I've had the problem before when i've installed my new antivirus (norton) and the solution was to add the kinovea file into my antivirus so it'll be ignored. But now it's the same problem and I can't fix it.. It's really strange because it was working untill monday. No updates have been done.
