According to Riot Games, 97% of players have never been reported for cheating. The remaining 3% of players were reported, but 80% did not receive more than one report. And 90% of the reported players have been reported by less than three players. Only 0.6% of players have received more than one cheating report, and only 0.3% have received three or more reports. The numbers are fairly impressive, which means Vanguard gets the job done almost always. No anti-cheat system is perfect, and it is nearly impossible to have an FPS title free of cheaters.

Riot also deploys manual checks on top of its anti-cheat for esports events to ensure competitive integrity is maintained. The percentage of cheaters in Valorant is about the same as its biggest competitor CS:GO, which puts Vanguard on par with the industry standard at the moment. CSGO currently bans approximately 2,500 players every day, and it has maintained an average of 729,000+ players per day. The percentage of cheaters banned is 0.34%, which is very similar to Vanguards 0.3%, as Riot mentioned.
Valve's VAC detects the same percentage of cheaters as Vanguard without requiring anti-cheat. Blizzard's Warden anti-cheat is also "non-invasive." Vanguard does not perform any better despite being an "always-on" invasive anti-cheat.
I don't believe that's the case because Icue uses cpuz149_x64.sys to monitor system temps and voltages and that cpuz149 driver is vulnerable and exploitable hence why vanguard blocked it will vanguard whitelist cpuz149 i would doubt it.
I don't think Riot Games will add anything to a whitelist because Vanguard is apart of an online data base that has know exploits and vulnerability's that allow cheats though the code. So it is down to the Vendors to patch there software or be left with complaints.
I actually had a blatant cheater in a ranked game for the first time the other day. Instant headshots jumping, running, full blinded, smoked, stunned, through walls. I hoped maybe he'd get caught by anti-cheat during the game and we wouldn't lose elo but nope. Fuckin sucked
To simp for the smol indie company riot, I have literally never seen a blatant hacker in the 1000 hours I have in val, only 1 or 2 that I suspected but wasn't sure, compare this to CS where every 3th has a closet cheater and every 10th is a ragehacker.
valorant has one of the best anti cheats of most fps their size.

Players in the closed beta discovered that the anti-cheat software kicks in as soon as you start your PC, and continues to run in the background even when you're not playing Valorant. After initially raising concerns that this could affect the performance of other games, or cause unforeseen conflicts, players were alerted to a potentially bigger issue.
Of course, if you're no longer interested in playing Valorant, the anti-cheat tools can be uninstalled. The idea of such elevated access, however, gave many in the Valorant community pause. For one, even assuming no malice on the part of Riot's, a breach could expose everyone who has that driver installed to risk, and they wouldn't even know about it.
In response, Riot's Paul "RiotArkem" Chamberlain explained that a boot-level driver is necessary to counter cheats that rely on booting up before anti-cheats to avoid detection. He also revealed that the driver remains dormant - not scanning any files or sending anything back to Riot - unless the game is running.
"We've had multiple external security research teams review it for flaws (we don't want to accidentally decrease the security of the computer like other anti-cheat drivers have done in the past). We're also following a least-privilege approach to the driver where the driver component does as little as possible preferring to let the non-driver component do the majority of work (also the non-driver component doesn't run unless the game is running)."
Chamberlain stressed that all the cheat scans are performed by the other component of Vanguard that isn't the driver - which is only active when the game is running, adding that it is "an important tool in our fight against cheaters."
With that in mind, Chamberlain revealed that Riot's intention isn't for these tools to do more harm than good, and that they could be removed if that turns out to be the case. For now, however, Valorant's anti-cheat will continue to boot alongside Windows.
Like most things involving developing software to combat other software, the anti-cheat arms race was in full effect. In order to combat the growing markets of selling cheats for games, better anti-cheats needed to be developed. VAC, for instance, originally only banned players for one to five years. In 2005, when VAC2 released, these bans became permanent. The number of bans given by VAC increased from just dozens to tens of thousands per week. As anti-cheats became better at detecting and preventing cheats, the cheats became better at avoiding it. Cheats that altered memory or game files were simply not good enough anymore. These would be detected quickly, sometimes within the same day as installation. Cheat sellers needed something better in order to compete. This led to the creation of kernel-level cheat software. These cheats would run on the kernel-level of your operating system and were very difficult to detect, sometimes outright impossible to detect with anti-cheat software. As these types of cheats became more popular, anti-cheat needed to catch up. Ring 3 anti-cheats are the most common kernel-level anti-cheat. These run at Ring 3 in the kernel, which has access to almost every aspect of your computer. Ring 0 cheats, however, are fairly common. A Ring 3 anti-cheat is not capable of detecting a Ring 0 threat.
So why is there so much fuss about kernel-level anti-cheat? Well, the main issue is security. Giving a third-party kernel-level access to your computer is not something that everybody wants to have to do. This can be especially troublesome if the anti-cheat software itself is not secure. If something goes wrong, a bad agent could gain access to your entire computer. Using the Vanguard example, Riot Games is owned completely by Tencent, a Chinese company. Especially for people in the United States, this just seems like a bad idea. Privacy is a major concern for many people as we have seen with the ongoing privacy war between Meta and Apple. Your data is not as secure as you think it is and much of it is probably already in the wrong hands. Many of these companies making this type of software already have your personal information such as credit card numbers. Riot Games, in a developer blog, stated:
The privacy debate is just one such problem with this type of software. Another concern is that the kernel-level software will run regardless if you are actually playing the game or not. This is an undesired trait of such software. You want it to protect you inside the game but leave you alone otherwise. Several other third-party anti-cheat systems already use kernel drivers to protect their games. Some of the biggest multiplayer games are protected by software such as EasyAntiCheat, BattleEye, and Xigncode3. These other anti-cheats run at Ring 3 and are just as intrusive as Vanguard. There are most certainly risks to this type of software, but for now it may just be something you have to deal with especially if you like competitive integrity.
Kernel-level anti-cheats can be seen as a necessary evil. Anybody who has played competitive games knows the struggles of playing against a cheater. It can be frustrating and ruin what is supposed to be a fun, enjoyable experience. In order to maintain competitiveness in multiplayer games, steps must be taken to ensure the highest level of integrity. With cheats running at the highest level of permissions, anti-cheats needed to step up their game. This has led to a problem for many people regarding privacy and integrity. While the risks involved with kernel drivers being used for anti-cheat software are few, they certainly exist.
Currently, various games like Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, Apex Legends, CSGO, and other games use anti-cheat services like BattleEye, VAC and Easy Anti-Cheat. Surprisingly, the performance of these well-known anti-cheat services simply cannot compare with Riot Vanguard.
Meanwhile, major anti-cheat services are failing to deal with this phenomenon resulting in them losing players. What is really impressive about Valorant's Vanguard Anti-Cheat is how well it can handle cheaters and cheats in a matter of days.
Now the game to be put in direct comparison to Valorant is CSGO. CSGO's Valve Anti-Cheat or VAC has been on the market for a long time. However, it failed to take care of cheaters throughout its run.
Without revealing exactly how Vanguard works, Riot explained its decision in a blog post: "If anti-cheat software is only run in user-mode, its capabilities would be compromised by a cheat running at a higher privilege level. For example, some of the more advanced cheating communities have used Direct Memory Access (DMA) to rebroadcast memory to a separate computer for later processing."
