Iwanted to get Photoshop CS6 Extended so I searched adobe photoshop cs6 extended trial, I clicked on one of the links and it took me to this page: [link] and then on the top I went to download>>product trials and it took me to this page: [link] and I clicked try for Photoshop CS6 Extended which then took me to the creative cloud page and I clicked download the free trial of photoshop. I downloaded and installed the adobe application manager, I looked down the list and found photoshop which I downloaded but when I opened the program it only said Photoshop CS6 not Photoshop CS6 Extended. I have seen before that I could download Photoshop CS6 Extended but why not now?

I am just using a trial for 30 days, when I opened it this is what showed up for the welcome screen: [link] but the CS6 Extended trial opening screen looks like this: [link] My friend has the extended version and I have seen her open it so I know what it looks like.

I deactivated Photoshop, expecting that I'd then be able to enter my retail serial number, but when I try to license it, it doesn't even let me enter a serial number - it just detects the (just cancelled today, but still active) subscription and says thanks very much.

I appreciate that this isn't exactly a terrible problem to have, and it's not a big deal. But is there any way to force it to let me enter my serial number, even though the subscription is still active? I'd prefer to avoid uninstalling the downloaded subscription copy, and reinstalling from the (ugh) DVD in the retail box - especially if that one will just pick up the subscription too!

3. Quit and relaunch Photoshop again. It will say you have 30 days left in your trial, and you can either click the "License" button or "Continue Trial". First, disconnect from the internet (switch off your computer's wifi, or such - make sure

Launched Photoshop CS6 this morning, and suddenly it is a trial version of CS6 Extended. I did not ask for this, I do not want this, I bought, paid for and registered the regular version on the day it was released. I am not renting the software via that stupid creative clod thing, I bought it the regular way. What is happening here? Is this going to happen every time they release a minor update? How do I make it go away?

Great to know, I asked Adobe support on the phone today this exact question; they said that the Plugins needed to be re-installed. Your experience though sounds a lot more promising and proves otherwise. Thanks!

Also, in speaking with tech support, Adobe is acknowledging this issue and working on a fix, so far my re-licensing pop-up has not resurfaced in the last 48hrs so I'm hoping it's gone away. What I had to do was to "Deactivate" the license, shut down my system, restart, launch PS CS6 then go to the activate process. I went through these steps instead of using the pop-up "re-licensing" option. 48hrs later, so far so good with 13.0.2 but will see tomorrow

Just wondering..... did you upgrade to 13.02, then immediately deactivate the license, close PS, then shut down your system? Just wanting to make sure I get the exact sequence down.......I am not sure I am going to mess with it until I hear of an official Adobe "fix", but you never know, I may be braver in the morning..........

again, it has been working fine for the last 48hrs but not out of the woods yet probably for another 48hrs plus... if this works in the long run, I think the secret is to deactivate first... I could be totally wrong and go through the un-install and re-install hassle like everyone else.

Now, consider that the REAL root problem here is that Photoshop is not maintaining your Activation status - essentially it's forgetting your serial number, and reverting back to a trial evaluation.

This is probably the case. PS is not maintining your Activation Status on your marchine, and a file is somehow either corrupted or is being changed once every 2 or so re-boots (of either PS or the machine). That is pretty weird. Should be cleared up quickly though.

I will also add that if you rely on your software for your job, do not, EVER, update to the most recent version. This may not have helped in this case, as it seems to be a "Time-Bomb Bug", breaking even the 13.0.1 version. But this is still a good idea. Same thing with IOS. Bugs spring up with the newest releases as always, affecting everything from homebuttom responce to battery life. Stay a week or two behind the updates, at least.

But but but, I paid for it and want it back. (spending hours to uninstall, download, reinstall, then reinstall all my add in's is not my monkey. Adobe should send a script to do that automatically. I did not screw up. I did not ask for CS6 extended. Their sales team was too eager to shove that down my throat. Let's keep that monkey on Adobe's back and let them pull the bone back out.)

Adobe have sent a script. It's called the installer. 10-15 minutes to reinstall. It doesn't lose any preferences and I'm sure it doesn't lose plugins. It's nothing to do with the sales team - it's a bug. And so on ad infinitum.

Regarding getting back to a working configuration without input from Adobe... You could take action, the most extreme of which would be to uninstall your entire set of Adobe software, even using the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to really scour your system, then reinstall Photoshop. That's likely what Adobe is going to ask you to do anyway.

Please correct me if I were wrong: Do I understand it that you are saying : way back, originally, in the beginning, I paid for and downloaded a copy of CS6. That copy was actually CS6 extended. When I activated it on day 1, there were some secret codes that suppressed the extended part and I was only able to activate the standard part and therefore, if I use my serial number today, I should get the standard part working?

So, my believe is, in my computer, I no longer have the original CS6 (standard or extended, full function version); somebody hacked into my system and replaced it with a trial version. My feeling is, I got rip off. I paid for the car, they changed it to a rental. They stole my contract and switched it with a rental contract. That's illegal, immoral and very sneaky. That's not a big, mighty, American cooperation should behave. May be a Chinese company, but not American.

OK, may be, you are talking about orange juice and I am talking about orange peel. Same orange, different things. I don't care if the 3D part is included or not, if they ask me to pay more money or not. I want that lock, that time bomb, that call to the on-trial-sub-routine removed.

What I hope for is, Adobe will take full responsibility, no need to apologize, just do a new CS6 update with all the goodies and none of the bugs, hopefully on 2013 January 1, and call it 13.1.1 and we will confirm our serial number at the Adobe site first, got verified, then download it as a copy with our unique serial number included, run it, and it will fix everything, in minutes. Then, offer us a separate email: upgrade to CS6 13.1.1 extended for $xx. Now we can pay for a new serial number. Win win.

The reinstall works - always, it's the fix as long as one doesn't update to 13.02, just stick with 13.01. Where it hasn't worked is where the update itself didn't cause the problem. That is causing confusion. But in your case, it is the update for sure. Other confusion arises in the update numbering which is different for cloud people as against us perpetual license holders.

I don't know why Adobe have not put reinstall up top as the answer to this thread instead of the re-entering the serial number stuff which clearly doesn't work. Reinstall works where the problems were caused by the update.

If you update TODAY to version 13.0.2+ or 13.1+ you will likely find the bug that causes Photoshop to forget your serial number and activation status to recur, just as it has for all the other folks here. There's even a small possibility it will happen with 13.0.0 or 13.0.1.

While attempting to open photoshop and begin working today it sprang the Photoshop CS6 EXTENDED Trial license window on me. I figured if I entered my id and pass it would figure out that I am using STANDARD and have already registered. Well, it did not work, and it is now stuck in the CS6 Extended Trial.

There is no reason I should have to uninstall and reinstall. That just seams like such a poor attempt at a "fix" that doesn't appear to help anyway. It's a brand new install that has only been on my mac pro for a bit over a week.

I am confident that Adobe Photoshop is the best of the best and will want to continue to remain the best of the best. If they choose to abdicate, there are others standing by to replace them. No fear.

It's the subroutine that calls the object after registration that is, for whatever reason, calling the wrong one. It should call the one that will suppress "Trial mode only" and "CS6 standard if flag so and so is set as standard".

This subroutine itself will most likely be a separate object in the big program and should be quite easy for the software engineers to find it, check the flag setting codes and the problem will be fixed.

Excuse my ignorance in this matter. But is photoshop checking the licensing over the internet when I start the app? How does photoshop CS6 react when not online? I better not see a license popup or have other issues when I am working offline.
