Dear PLs,
PLs stands for poetry lovers. Today I accidentally ran across a poem I
wrote some time ago (in English original). Upon re-reading, I kinda like
it. So, I am sharing it with everyone here. It is called Across the
Abyss. Here it goes.

Across the Abyss
This man in front of me
Is carrying a time bomb in his heart
I can see it tickling in the red flashes of his eyes
In the grip of his jaws
Locking in the cement defiance against all gentleness
In the sharpness of his voice
Rising in heat waves
Vowing to save the world
To save me from my self
It is such a heartening thing
To know someone actually wants to save you
Though the thought that he will first blast his heart to smithereens
Scares me
Two different worlds
Only an arm length apart
With two cups of coffee in between
And a pitch-black ocean
So dark
I can’t even tell it is the color of pain or blood
This man, the age of my father
With all the simplicity of my father in his heart
He lights my cigarette
His fingers shaking, just like my dad’s
I want to say I love you
But I save myself from sounding like a hypocrite
What do I know about the pain or love
Of a man who has climbed range after range of sorrow
Whose pain has become life’s blood
What do I know?
