Mr. Bill Clinton, President of the United States of America
Mr. Al Gore, Vice-President of the United States of America
Members of US Senate
Members of US House of Representatives
Officials of Government and Non-Government Organizations for Human
Rights
Dear sirs and Madame's,
We are citizens of Vietnam, a country that has been suffering much
miseries and losses due to the war, poverty and hunger, injustice,
persecution, exploitation, deceits, brainwashing and impoverishment for
decades by the Vietnamese Communist Party and its government.
As you may have already been aware, the Communist government by Ho Chi
Minh had blatantly challenged the world's opinions and commitment, and
pushed forward ideological warfare by promising the liberation of the
people, copying their masters in the Communist block to draw the people
of Vietnam into the tragedy of a meaningless war. Our country has since
continually suffered further destruction, poverty, hunger and
backwardness. The war for freedom for the people of South Vietnam,
which the Americans had contributed to with their own flesh and blood,
had proved very clearly one thing: those who feel the responsibility
with their motherland, those who want to keep their honor, must brave
dangers, and must be ready to risk their own lives to achieve freedom
and happiness for their posterity. We, the young Vietnamese people and
students in Vietnam have always kept those ideals in our hearts and our
minds. We feel that the American soldiers who bravely fell on the
battlefields in South Vietnam would have wanted that their sacrifices
justified.
Because of the above reasons, because of our commitment to struggle for
and to uphold the ideals of freedom for the people, that our fathers
and grand-fathers as well as your own, and the late US President, John
F. Kennedy, had hoped for, we urgently appeal to you to speak up your
minds with all honesty and sincerity, to bring to the world's
attention, and to condemn in the strongest terms all misinformation and
propaganda by the present Communist government of Vietnam aiming at
concealing its tyranny. We pledge to cherish, support, fight for, and
be ready to take whatever sacrifices necessary to achieve human rights
and civil rights for the people of Vietnam, who are abhorrently
exploited and oppressed by their own single-party Communist
dictatorship.
Dear sirs,
For a long time, we have been fearful of reprisals by the Vietnamese
Communist Government and we have been silent waiting for the right
opportunity. Now the opportunity has arrived.
No! We can no longer retreat! Each time we retreated, the Vietnamese
Communist Party has pushed us back further! We would rather sacrifice
everything now than surrendering and becoming slaves for the tyrannical
Communist regime. Freedom is the life blood; democracy and human rights
are the ultimate aims for the entire population of Vietnam.
Yes, dear sirs, we do want freedom or death!
Respectfully yours,
The Students Club of Vietnam

Before you buy.
Right On!
The reason I went to Vietnam: to fight against tyranny (communism) and
fight for freedom.
This is Bill Clintons' last performance on the world stage. His term in
office is blemished with tawdry affairs. This is his last opportunity
to improve his legacy. He must clearly and strongly state the ideals of
our country: freedom, democracy, human rights and justice. Any
deviance from our clearly stated values will earn him the eternal
wrath of Americans.
Keep up the good work. Freedom is worth fighting and dying for.
Communism is dead.
Best Regards
Greg
