Dear friends,
Ten years ago, a group of Vietnamese students at different colleges,
universities in the Eastern side of the United States got together and
organized the first Ve Nguon camp. Serving as a connection and a forum for
the young generation to share and learn about the Vietnamese traditions, the
camp has grown from a small group of about 75 people in the first year to
more than 350 campers in subsequent meetings.
This year, we again would like to invite you to join the Ve Nguon
tradition in its 11th camp. The camp will be held during the Labor Day
weekend, from Friday, September 1st to Monday, September 4rd, at Prince
William Forest National Park in Triangle, VA, near Washington, DC. Come see
friends from all over the US and Canada for a three-day extravaganza
of fun and learning about our country's rich tradition.
The program includes festivals, sports, game competitions, musical
performances, informative chats, bonfire, and scores of other activities
that have been modified and enriched to bring you the best that no other
camp can offer.
This year, we will also have the opportunity to talk to two special guests:
Mrs. Chan Tran, a community and human rights activist; and Mr. De Tran, a
senior member of the Vietnamese Scouts. The registration deadline for the
camp is August, 18th. Because of camp regulations we can only accommodate
300 campers this year. Please send in your registration with the camp fee of
$60 before August 18. After this deadline, camp fees will be increased to
$75 and registrations will be accepted only if space is available. We hope
to see you at Prince William Forest National Park this year!
