Dear Friends,
In 2008, an Memorandum of
Understanding was signed between Viet Nam and the United States allowing
for the deportation of Vietnamese Americans. It was only a few years
earlier that a similar agreement was made with Cambodia. The effects on
the individuals and their families, left in the U.S., has been
devastating.
Since then a small but devoted collective of
students, organizers, educators and community members have been
organizing around this issue which first begins with education and
requires collaboration.
Please join us on
Saturday
for a short presentation of the issue,
followed by a
brainstorming session to make change.
Please bring your friends,
parents, siblings, and anyone else.
There will be Vietnamese and
Cambodian translators present.
