Rat mong quy vi danh thoi gian xem nhung tai lieu sau day truoc cuoc hop. Do thoi gian cua cuoc hop co han va cac noi dung can thiet phai duoc trinh bay mot cach ngan gon nen viec danh thoi gian xem truoc nhung van de chuyen mot se giup tan dung toi da co hoi gap go qua cuoc hop.

Dear members of National REDD+ Network,
 
Further to VRO’s announcement of the 2^nd sub-technical working group meeting on safeguards (STWG-SG), and on behalf of the co-chairs, I would like to share presentations made in the kick-off meeting last month for your reference.
 
In preparation for the 2^nd meeting on 19 April, I would like to draw all interested parties to the following background materials on multilateral REDD+ safeguard initiatives that could inform a national-level process co-ordinated by the STWG-SG.  
 
Please take time to familiarise yourself with these documents in advance of the meeting.  Time in the meeting is limited and presentations will be necessarily short;  some background reading around the subject matter will be necessary to maximise the value of coming together in the meeting.  
 

·         Safeguards listed in the Cancun Agreement (UNFCCC decision 1/CP.16 appendix 1) endorsed by all parties to the UNFCCC
·         The World Bank Forest Carbon Partnership Facility Readiness Fund’s Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA)  for Multiple Delivery Partners
·         The Draft UN-REDD Social and Environmental Principles and Criteria (SEPC),
·         The Draft REDD+ Social and Environmental Standards (SES) Version 2, developed by a consortium of NGOs in consultation with countries
·         A Review of Three REDD+ Safeguard Initiatives (SESA, SEPC and SES)
