Subject: [Hang], Author a Rapid Mini book on OpenStack for Packt

Hi Hang ,

My name is Mohammad Rizvi and I'm an Author Relationship Executive at Packt Publishing. Packt specializes in publishing IT related books and e-books, written by experts in the field.

Packt publishes focused IT books and is seeking out authors to develop a mini book of 90-100 pages on OpenStack Cloud Security. This is targeted at existing developers who have simply just ignored security concerns, either because it's hard or just annoying to implement. This book provides a reading experience from start to finish that helps developers implement cloud security for private cloud deployments.

This title is designed to meet current trends in market demands and consumer needs, so we would need to publish it in a short time span.

Given your affiliation with Openstack, I was wondering whether you would be interested in working on this project.

More details on this title are as follows:

Page Count: 90-100 pages.

Target Audience and Prerequisites:

This book is for developers who have setup private clouds (either for themselves or for their organizations) with OpenStack, who need to now bolster security and then check that the changes they have implemented work correctly and efficiently.

Time period:

The time period for developing and publishing this mini book is within 3 months. This means the deadline for submission of the first drafts is 1month, followed by a month and half for the technical reviewing and publishing of the title.

A dedicated team of editors will be helping you throughout the project with the creation of the book.

As mentioned earlier, we want to publish this book as soon as possible and it is therefore imperative that time commitments and project deadlines are adhered to, enabling us to roll out the finished product on time. To make this possible, during this time period you would ideally always be available via e-mail, telephone, and IM clients and respond to emails within 24 hours.

Royalty and Payment Policies:

Packt will be paying you a royalty of 16% of the Net Revenue that the book generates.

An advance against this royalty of $1200 will be paid to you, 25% of which will be paid to you after completion of the first draft of the book, and the rest after the book is published.

Please let me know if you would like to know more about the project.

Awaiting reply,

--
