For those who attended the 'Foreign Press Week' back in Saigon for the 50th anniversary back at end of April 2025, here is latest on reimbursing our airfares.

The co-sponsor here, I'd suggest, is the HCM City People's Committee who've got their hands full with the abolition of the city's districts and massive re-organisation.

I hope we get this settled soon before we get Rubio & Co to lodge a formal protest.

Cheers and best regards,

Carl

Dear Carl,
Please find below the email from HCM department of Foreign Affairs. I hope this helps.

Dear Journalists,

First and foremost, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs would like to express our sincere gratitude to you for attending and covering the Ceremony commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification – a momentous event of profound historical significance to the City and the entire country.

We understand that many of you are waiting and may be concerned as to why you have not yet received the reimbursement for the airfare you personally covered. However, due to certain complex administrative procedures, the reimbursement process has not yet been completed as expected. We sincerely apologize for this delay.

Please rest assured that we are actively and diligently working with our partners to resolve this matter. We kindly ask for your continued patience and understanding during this time. We are fully committed to ensuring that the reimbursement will be completed in the soonest possible time.

Thank you once again for your support and sincerely apologize for the delay of the reimbursement.
