Dear Carl and All,

I met Peter Arnett through the connection with my Amsterdam neighborhood friend Ed van Kan, who I recognized on the arrival of the USNS CORE at the foot of Rue Catinat on December 11, 1961. Ed was filming our arrival for Movietone. 

When my wife joined me she befriended Arnett's lady friend who had come with him from Bangkok. The two new friends liked to attend the cultural presentations of the Alliance Francaise. And I learned a new expression from Arnett, he called his friend, I believe she was a Kiwi, "Culture Vulture". 

She is not mentioned in his autobiography.
