Greetings friends of Hugh also known as Vietnam old hacks:
Many of you may not know that my friend and colleague of ABC News,Vietnam
Bill Brannigan passed away
on May 20th here in Washington D.C. after a short hospital stay due to
serious breathing problems.
Bill was 73.
You will recall Bill in Vietnam for ABC from 1965 through 1968. He had
great local sources and in the ARVN
and always knew who was plotting the next coup. We called him Tran Van
Bran.
Bills funeral is Friday and we are holding an Irish wake at the National
Press Club to celebrate his life on
Saturday June 27th. If you knew Bill you might wish to contact his

Friday, June 26th - 12 noon - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church (3815 Russell Road Alexandria, VA 22305)
Saturday, June 27th - 11am - 2pm - A memorial service followed by refreshments will be held at the National Press Club (529 14th St. NW, 13th Floor - Washington, DC 20045)
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Relief Services (http://crs.org/) , checks may be sent to: Catholic Relief Services P.O. Box 17090 Baltimore, MD 21203-7090).
We hope that you will be able to join us. Knowing that there may be some friends and colleagues for whom we do not have contact information, we kindly ask that you "cc" us as you pass the information forward.

privileged to be with him in Vietnam.
