I posted SRTM map

Hello all,

I just joined this group few days ago. I am looking for the
Vietnamese map for my Garmin units but, I couldn't find any good
one. I made dozen of maps including TOPO and city maps.
I posted TOPO map to this group as a greeting message.

Oh, I'm not Vietnamese and I can't write/read Vietanmese except Xin
Chao and Ngo. Therefore I don't know what you guys are talking about,
but, if you want to exchange message with me, please write me in
English.

Welcome to the group. As its name implies, we are trying to create
Vietnam maps for Garmin units. We have collected quite some data over
time and it's now the time to process the raw materials and hopefully
turm them into reasonable good maps.

Our maps will be free, just watch out this place.

You are more than welcome. I have also made water maps (shoreline,
river and lakes) to overlay wih SRTM map.
The storage area of this group is kind of too small to upload all the
maps I made. Is there any paticular request of the map you are
interested in?

Wow, you must have large quantity of map data. Google allows 100MB for
files uploading and I though it's sufficient. If it's not, we can just
create a few more group just for storage. :)

We actually are having quite good vector map data. Most of our effort
now is to convert them to the suitable format that readable by Garmin
units. I think the POI are of more valuable to us.

Dear GPS,

It is good to know you are working on the genarating data. Hopefully,
I can use this data on my GPS unit on the next trip to Vietnam next
year. I have registered version of cGPSMAP compiler (shareware
version) on my PC. I you need a computing power to generate maps, I
can help you to do it. It took over one week to just compile source
SRTM data to create IMG file. If the map is complecated, it will
take more time.

By the way, I also have POI map file which contains thouthands of the
POI information. Those latitude/logitude information came from
http://www.fallingrain.com/world/VM/. However, this information is
missing second level information. Those data contains only DD.MM but
not SS. If it is still OK, I can also upload POI information but,
if you have more detailed information. I won't upload it.
