Hello,

I'm looking for the public web site which can take "postal address" as
an argument and return the cordinate by xml. I found those service
in other country but I couldn't find it for Vietnam.

I would like to use this service to convert address list to the actual
Latitude/Longitude. The reverse service is also available in other
country such as "give an latigude/logitude" as an argument and return
"postal address" as a xml. What I found so far is not exactly I
want but, similar to what I want. The site like here can convert
address to latitude/cordinate but it is not nation wide and very
limited area in Vietnam.

Beside that, there is a big un-accuracy in such kind
of conversion because in Vietnam, one can say without
fearing to be wrong, that there is not a system to
make postal address.

So sorry very much, but personnally speaking, I don't
believe to that conversion can be done in Vietnam now.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. It is too bad that I need to actually go there
and take a taxi or look at very detail level street map which is
almost impossible to obtain at the outside of Vietnam. If it is like
a hotel or any kind of landmark, there must be some direction
information but, if it is a private residence or something, it is
hopeless. Well, I shuld not deserve something which does not exist
yet.

But you always can ask ! Vietnamese people, generally
speaking, is very nice, almost any body in "midden
class" speaks English and happy to help you in finding
right address in the city.

Or you can get relative, approcimated address at
http://diadiem.com/

Good luck !

There is no way to correlate "postal address" to coordinates as there
is no logical order in the postal address allocation. Actually there
are ways, as you have experienced, taking a taxi is an easy way; or an
adrenaline rush way riding a bike looking at address details.

Fortunately, people are friendly and willing to help, even with sign
or body language.

If you are lucky, you may find a local partner to team up with. See

Good luck,
