UPDATE EDIT: I also experimented in MacroDroid with giving unique notification tones to Person, Pet, Vehicle, and Package notifications which also worked well. Currently working on combining type and cam tones and recording my own voice notification tones.
It uses the default tone on IOS. This was a change from apple, not Hubitat. You can use pushover and use different sounds based on the severity of the notifications. It's what I've been using for years.
You can change the sounds per account by opening the account settings Notifications Open system notification settings. Then press one of the channels belonging to one of the accounts and change the sound there.
It is just not possible to change the notification sound for every account! If set the sound for account 1 to sound A and then set account 2 to sound B, and then return to settings of account 1 there is also sound B set.
I'm looking for a way to prevent my notification tone from playing when I run into something like hitting backspace in the terminal when there aren't any characters. When I do that, it plays the error tone and my notification tone. Is there a way to prevent this?
Without having the details of the specific flavour of Ubuntu (incl. desktop environment) that is in use (OP should edit answer to provide details), have a look at this existing post for Ubuntu 18.04 -> Turn off error sound on Ubuntu 18.04. This allows you to disable the desktop notification sounds, that may exist in addition to the generic system bell.
I upgraded the app to 2.1.0 (20 April) because thought it might have been the reason I was not receiving notifications. Turns out the lack of notifications was due to another reason Notifications Disabled
As you can see in the image, all my notification times and the timestamp are the same. However, all these notifications were delivered / received at the same time when I reconnected the device to the internet.
@ray Can you try the apk uploaded here and make a screenshot of the notifications?
github.com/openhab/openhab-android Issue: Notification icon should be monochromeopened by mueller-maon 2018-05-03On some roms the colored icon isn't looking good: -app-2-1-0-notification-sound/43976/7?u=mueller-ma bug
I have setting page from which user can set the sound for the notification and also user can play sound. This part is completed. I am able to play sound from the assets folder using Media Player. I can use same logic at the Notification creation time but problem can be happened when user click on the Notification because media player still playing the sound.
assets are private resources to that app, I think you wont be able to set them as ringtone, you will need a public file which is accessible by the media process to set ringtone. You will have to copy the file to sdcard to set it as ringtone.
The correct path to load something from your assets folder is file:///android_assets/relative_path_to_your_file. Note the three slashes here. Although I have not tried to set a notification sound this way, I have used this with a WebView with success a number of times, and would expect it to work the same way.
I understand what you mean, and upon checking the iPhone's settings, there's no way that we can customize the notification on your phone. What we only have here is to change the doorbell sounds via the Nest app. If you want to know more about this, you can check this link as your reference.
Thanks for asking! From Princess' response it appears as though there is no way to select tones to be played by the iPhone whenever a camera detects something. The only option is to turn sound off or on. I think this is a missing feature. I think the default alert tone for camera alerts is quite moderate - and I would like to be able to select a more aggressive ringtone for camera alerts.
Hello Blynk Community.
I have a follow up question related to this topic. I know that the notification widget allows you to select a sound when a notification occurs but is there a way to select the tone in the hardware so that the sound can be unique depending on the reason for the notification?
It appears that this was investigated 2 years ago and i could find any information about it when i checked the notification section of the Blynk docs. Please help.
I would imagine that unless the sound can be selected on both Android an iOS then it would be very difficult to change the Blynk library to specify which type of sound should be used for a notification.
Hello Pete. Okay i am an android user and i am able to select the sound of the notification widget on the app. If i am able to do this, on the app is it possible to make this selection in my hardware using some line of code such as the lines of code available to change the colour and labelling of an LED widget or the state of a push button widget ?
Sorry I miswrote! I get text notifications for arming, disarming, lost/regained connection and secret alerts. NOT outdoor camera motion. It would be nice if all this was well laid out/documented/available to read. Just a push alert for camera motion.
Maybe a new system alert SMS Recipient togglable category or a specific individual camera setting to text with motion detection or a motion "secret alert". Currently motion notifications "on" only provides a push notification.
So suggest atm if the sound notification volume is too high or too low for a particular eM Client notification item, i would suggest to open those externally in an open source audio editor such as eg: Audacity, and then adjust the volume up or down and then resave it out as another file name. Then choose that new saved sound file for whatever eM Client sound notification you want.
So, how can I actually disable this sound? If I could disable all notification sounds that would be a valid solution. I haven't found a setting like this though. But I don't want to disable sound itself; I still want to have sound in my video games :)
We are using CUCM version 11.5. We are piloting a third-party call monitoring\ recording solution that doesn't rely on UCCX (it uses the built-in bridge feature on the phone). We would like to have a single tone played for the agent (but not the connected party) when the supervisor starts monitoring the phone call.
Under "System-> Service Parameters-> Server (our server)-> Service Cisco Call Manager -> Clusterwide Parameters (Feature - Monitoring) -> Play Monitoring Notification Tone to Observed Target" I have the setting set to True. The tone is played every 8 seconds of the phone call.
Does anyone know a way to change this interval? I would like to play the tone once the supervisor connects only. If that is not possible I could live with having the tone play at a much longer interval than 8 seconds.
I honestly dont know. I think that half the time they just assume that if they trigger a native notification for whatever OS / DE that it should handle the sound natively. Well KDE does but not in the way that they think.
I have a camera pointed at a cat flap ("Cam1"), which notifies me when my cat comes back in the morning, usually around 8:00 AM, I get a notification. Then I also have two other cameras, pointed at the front door ("Cam2") and the garage door ("Cam3"), respectively. I would like notifications for Cam1 to use a more gentle sound, and Cam2 and Cam3 to use a louder, more aggressive warning sound. At the moment I can only use the same sound for all cameras. I don't mind if I miss a notification about my cat coming in (Cam1), because it's not critical, but I cannot miss critical notifications about intrusions (Cam2 and Cam3), so I want those to be loud and rude, so I am forced to use the loud and rude sound for all cameras.
The other very important advantage of using camera-specific sounds is that, if many cameras are installed, users can know where motion was detected without even opening the app. The Phone app can set different ringtones for different contacts, so it is technically possible. I think users would love this feature, hopefully Tapo can implement it in a future update. Thanks!
I have set my notification settings to sound and vibrate. Many times when a message arrives , SMS or wapp , my phone would just vibrate for a fraction of a second and either won't play notification sound or play it for less than half a second.
There is no way to raise the volume for the ringtone, notifications, alarms, games, or media above the set maximum. However, Some Xperia devices feature different sound-enhancing technologies that can increase the volume. The volume of sounds using a headset is not affected.
The software update notification icon is designed to appear whenever new system software is available.
In Android version 5.0 or higher, it is not possible to permanently deactivate the system software update notification. You can, however, deactivate it temporarily. The update notification will reappear after a restart of your Xperia device or if you search for an update manually.
Note: It is highly recommended that you go through with software updates as it increases the overall performance and improves the security protection of the device. Updating your device to the latest available software reduces the risk of handing it in for repair to a service center.
