Mapathon on Software Freedom Day

Hey all,

    FOSSers is organizing an OpenStreetMap mapathon on Software Freedom Day, September 15 2018 ! We have seen how OpenStreetMap helped during the recent flood Kerala has seen. keralarescue.in, microid.in/keralaflood etc. used OpenStreetMap. This shows the relevance of mapping and how it can help in situations like these.

    Manoj Karingamadathil who graduated from our college is going to lead this mapathon ! He's a Free Software enthusiast and a Wikipedia/OpenStreetMap volunteer.

    The event's gonna start at 10:30AM in ME CAD Lab.

    Our college is one of the few places in India where Software Freedom Day is going to be celebrated. Let's make this event a grand success.

Hey !

    We successfully conducted the event ! With more than 36 student volunteers from different branches, we were able to make 4,400+ contributions to OSM in less than 5 hours !!
