More graceful recovery from disk full

I set Vidnik to record a class I was taking last night. During
recording, the disk filled to capacity. I wasn't watching, so I'm not
sure exactly what happened at what point, but when I returned to the
computer the disk was nearly full and Vidnik had quit. I relaunched
Vidnik and the movie I had been recording was not in Vidnik's list.

I restarted my computer and the partial movie showed up in a Recovered
Items folder in my trash.

It'd be great if Vidnik recovered more gracefully from disk full.
Perhaps something like:

* Set preference for minimum disk free space to maintain
* When minimum free space is reached, stop recording, and put up a
message to that effect
