All I get is a white window.

I am trying Vidi 0.4.7, on my Mac Pro, using OS 10.5-Leopard.
I am not getting anywhere. After opening Vidi, nothing happens.  
I have read a few posts that seem to say the same. One of them said you have to select Video from the Main Menu bar. (It was already checked so I assumed that was done, but I clicked it again anyway.) That did help because I at least got a Vidi window with a red record button. But the window is white and nothing happens when I click the record button.

I read similar posts but the replies just taper off and I don’t see any solutions.

(I am trying to record from my DVR. I am coming out from its RCA out ports, using standard RCA cables. From there I go into my Miglia Digital Converter. From there I use a firewire cable into my Mac.
This set up works with Quicktime Pro; iMovie and Toast 8. - except that I cannot keep a steady recording stream. It seems that the Miglia device is the common item in all these problems but I don’t know how or why. In any case, I cannot get Vidi to even come on board.
