Hello,

When capturing from a DV device, does VIDI recompress the incoming DV
stream or does it write it "as is" to the disk ? If it is the latter,
is there a way to force VIDI not to recompress (may be it is the "best
quality" setting) ?
Also, when capturing DV, can VIDI report dropped frames or potential
1394 communication errors ?

Thanks !

Sorry, I meant "if it is the former", not the latter.

Vidi saves the DV stream as-is, without recompressing. The quality
settings affect only the real-time rendering, similar to the playback
quality options in QuickTime Player. In reply to the other question,
Vidi does not report dropped frames or other errors.
