Hi all,
It's a pleasure for me to join the dev group!
My first wish is to localized the MB interface.
I've created a MB Clone.
If you are intersted, please have a look at
http://code.google.com/r/stephanevento-localization/source/browse
See also the tracker : http://community.mediabrowser.tv/permalinks/6/add-support-for-other-languages

Cheers

Are theme developers going to have to do anything to take advantage of the localization ?

Unfortunately, since all the themes have gone off of standard controls, I think this will be a huge undertaking.  We will need to put in place a true string management feature so that everything references strings in the abstract.

The task for theme dev is not too hard.
Application class is available in almost every mcml file and only a
few strings need to be changed.

Sounds excellent, Tip. Does this also include other-language metadata
providers?

Not sure to understand your question Eric.
Localized strings are in the file strings-XX.xml where XX is current
culture.
So, we need people translate this file for each language we want to
support. I will do it for french language.
We can also imagine a system where MB automatically detects the
current culture and download the appropriate xml file from a web
server.

Metadata provider is another problem. For French movies data I've
already created a plugin that download metadata (we even have an app
like MetaBrowser but for french data)
