VPN

It worked fine for quite a long time but since a few weeks I can't download when a VPN is turned on.

I tried different sites where I download files usually...

Just wonder why.

sorry I don't have a reason for this. Nothing changed on our side, and it should work with a VPN. Nothing changed on your network access/configuration ?

Hi,

I spent some time yesterday to figure out where the problem is.

I finally tested with different VPN and found the bad guy...

It finally doesn't work with NordVPN any more...

Probably NordVPN modified some stuff.

I am running Ubuntu 21.10.

I switched to Mozilla VPN and guess what - it works...

It's finally not a problem of DownloadHelper !

Although you changed to a different vpn to make it work again , I can't see how it would be an issue in Nord vpn.

All a vpn does is encrypt your internet connection and replace your ip address of your isp to that of the vpn provider.

Most countries have their content geo blocked if you're outside that location ,so you could be geo blocking yourself unless

it was something else.

So when you said I can't download when a VPN is turned on ,what was it exactly ?

An error message , download failure.

I am getting a red flag on the icon, which notifies an error message and a download failure.

I am not saying it's an error of NordVPN but it doesn't work with that app any more.

As I've installed another VPN which works for me I don't have the intention to investigate further on.
