Is there a fix on this issue or work around?
I would have some twitch tab streaming on the background of streamers... The issue is happening when I'm leaving twitch on for more then 30 min or 1 hour or longer, when closing tab it would freeze for a while until it unfreeze and work again.

I notice two conversation of such but no work around yet. Anyone have a solution yet?

Are you looking to download a twitch stream or simply watch it. If the latter then why not open the stream in a
private window where vdh is not running. VDH should be disabled in private windows so it shouldn't be a problem to watch the stream this way.
Try this and do what you did before and see if the issue is gone or not.

I have the same problem on Firefox, when I watch a stream for a longer period.
My guess is that vdh detects all the emotes from chat (I use ffz and bttv) and breaks when closing the tab because there are so many.
I added all the urls to the denylist to see if the problem persists.

I refer to  you my response  above to the other poster to see whether that makes a difference. I don't think it has anything to do with emotes, vdh only detects video on any given site. The emote animations can be disabled in the chat if that is a concern.

Another option is to blacklist twitch in vdh if you're only watching and not downloading.

I use vdh in private windows too so this is not a workaround. The only workaround for me was just to disable vdh completely until I needed it.
But I am not looking for a workaround, I am looking for a solution.

Twitch was already blacklisted and I still had these issues. Now I have these domains blacklisted:

youtube.com

All of these domains detected vdh by itself, I just used the button "Add to blacklist".

I blacklisted just  twitch . tv  and vdh was no longer detecting anything on the site. Are you saying twitch streams were still detected or that the
problem still persisted. If the twitch website is blacklisted and no longer detecting anything then this is no longer a vdh issue.
The problem then is something else not connected to vdh.

Typically how many tabs do you have open on twitch and also are you blocking ads.

Hey MJS,

The problem is still VDH as when I "disable" or turning off VDH, thru the add-on extension. It would solve this issue from twitch lag when closing a tab that is run by "twitch.tv" I try blacklisting as well and that only lessen the lag time. But would still completely lag the whole firefox browser down from responding any other job action. However the black list does help reduce the time but it still freeze up.

a Single twitch tab or 10 twitch tab... closing one or all one at a time. they all lag one by one. So unless I disable the app thru the extension section tab of firefox. It will cause some major issue with the "closing" respond time. Disabling Ads Blocker Plus or Ublockers make no differences.

Was vdh still detecting video streams on twitch after blacklisting the site ?
If it wasn't l can't see how this would be connected to vdh . Also you want to be blocking ads not disabling ad blockers.
Another option would be to use private windows where vdh is not running.
There is something in Firefox you could check out by opening l think about: memory
Vdh should be blacklisting twitch then see the extensions memory usage. Also compare with twitch not blacklisted . Are there any differences ?
