Problem with Gorillavid and similar

Hi. I normally had no problem downloading videos from GorillaVid, Daclips, Vodlocker and other servers like that. But since Firefox got the most recent actualization suddenly VDH stop working on those servers. Well I'm not 100% sure if it was because of FF actualization but is the only major change that happens recently and after the actualization VDH was lost and I had to download it agains so I'm guessing it's related. Thank you.

Like the original poster, I cannot get VDH to work in firefox even after installing VdhCoAppSetup-1.0.7.

Suddenly, videos on gorrilavid.in, daclips.in, movpod.in, cannot be played at all since firefox updated itself, and installed both downloaded VDH 7 and VdhCoAppSetup-1.0.7. Everything was still working before today, before FF updated, before i used VDH 7 and its VDHcoapp.

Also, places that used to be able to downloadable for me, now cannot work. These will be listed below, with example links:

Just to make things clear: if the video does not play in the page, there is no chance it can be seen and captured by VDH. Is it what's happening ?

The video will not play in any site with the .in ending.

However, the video does play in the sites below. BUT even though, the video can be played, VDH 7 in FF 57 does not light up and signal that there is a video playing. Prior to today, this problem did not exist because i could play and use VDH to download from them.

In other sites such as estream, dailymotion and vidlox at FF 57, VDH 7 does download the file BUT the file is always at 0% for 9/10 tries. In the 1/10 tries that it does download a file from estream, dailymotion, vidlox that is more than 0bytes, the file cannot be played or rendered by VLC, windows media classic, etc

Well in my case the video can be played in FF and seen, but can't be dowload with VDH, but it might depend on the individual page, I did have problems with the streaming of other videos in other ocasions.

This is a summary in point form of my problems that are now existing in FF57 when VDH 7 and VdhCoApp are installed. These issues did not exist before FF57 and before VDH 7.

PROBLEM 1 - VIDEOS WILL NOT PLAY AT ALL EVEN WHEN PLAY BUTTON IS PRESSED.

PROBLEM 2 - VIDEOS CAN PLAY BUT VDH DOES NOT LIGHT UP AND DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO DOWNLOAD THESE VIDEOS

PROBLEM 3 - VIDEOS THAT CAN BE DOWNLOADED BUT THE VIDEOS EITHER CANNOT BE PLAYED WHEN DOWNLOAD FINISHES OR THE FILE IS FOREVER AT ZERO BYTES
9/10 times, the videos from the affected sites are at 0 bytes
1/10 times, the videos from the affected sites can be downloaded by VDH 7 in FF57, but it always cannot be played or rendered by any media player whatsoever

Problem 1: i agree this is an annoyance, but there is nothing VDH can do to make those videos play on Firefox 57.

Problem 2: tried all those links, they all either required subscription (and i'm not going to do that), not work at all, or in one case use the visitor's CPU to mine crypto-currency in background :(

Problem 3: they all worked for me :(
Let's focus on the one from dailymotion: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x32horo .

- Which variant did you pick ?

- Are you sure you wait long enough ? when you download the video, you first get a file named "-  video - Dailymotion.mp4" (yes the naming must be fixed and it will be) which is empty, and a file "-  video - Dailymotion.mp4.part" that is increasing during the download. When the download is over, file "-  video - Dailymotion.mp4.part" is renamed to "-  video - Dailymotion.mp4". At least, this is how it is supposed to work and does in my case.

- In the 1/10 case where you get a non empty file, can you post it on a site like expirebox.com so i can verify if it is corrupted ?

Does this development version: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/versions/beta?page=1#version-7.0.1a2 solves any of the problems you experience ?

Sadly, not at all. VDH now completely does not work in FF57 for me.
