Hi,
I have the latest Video DownloadHelper, (as it updates automatically) and I have donated to its cause in the past. It is still advertised as being Free for Firefox, this is not so , that is ILLEGAL, items requiring payment have to declare so, and people should be made aware of programs that require payment BEFORE they get to install them.
The converter that is required now , it never was before, requires a fee paying !!!!..unless one wants a nasty large black/white 'thing' prominent in the video.
Not sure if this is annual or a one off payment, this should be made clear BEFORE we get to instal Video DownloadHelper and it should state what the fee is and the type of payment it is.  No payment no use of downloadHelper.

What I object to is not being told the truth, the word FREE must be removed and the fee described.

Sorry but you are mistaken.

Video DownloadHelper is and has always been a free video/images downloader. It has also the ability to convert downloaded media files. This service has been available since 2008 and has always been commercial (we need to eat too) except on Linux where it is free.

If you don't want to use the converter just don't use conversion (do not download ADP variants which require conversion and were previously invisible to VDH, more details here: http://www.downloadhelper.net/why-converter-needed-aggregation.php)

There is nothing you could do for free in previous versions and you cannot do now for the same price.

You need to make it clear to users what to look for, I have now sussed this and one needs to look out for and avoid the very small lettering ADP, choosing a hi res mp4 conversion, I tried for three or four videos and was met with this each time. By choosing different videos there are those that are ADP free, but if the video is the one I want, I dont want to go find another film which has a non ADP.
The problem is there is nothing said prominently about the fee, one installs the converter then finds out afterwards. Just state what the fee is up front, but do try and reduce the fee, folk here are pleased to pay a bit, not the amount asked for, by asking less you will in fact get far more and be better off, alienate and lose users and you lose, I would see a small fee as donation, and I do believe in your prog and that you need to live., and will continue to donate.

Make this able to download BBC Iplayer please and I will pay a conversion fee, though $10 would be good.

I am unable to record BBC progs I miss from the I Player website yet can record them when broadcast. doesnt make sense.

We also need assuring that this converter is as good as or superior to the programs we have already purchased as I dont want to go paying twice for conversion progs.

I want to be sure that what it does is as good as my progs can do.

Can I not download an ADP then use the progs I purchased to fuse the audio/video ?  What control is there over quality ?

How does one download the ADP and use ones own programmes already paid for ?
