Hello.

the software VdHCoAppSetup - 1.2.4 always tries to download itself and fails (the source of the download is: "downloadhelper.net") and I recieve no notification that this software is being downloaded. However, I never asked to download it and now that I removed the VideoDownloadHelper add-on the aforementioned VdHCoAppSetup still download itself and fail. To sum it up: this software gets downloaded without my agreement and witout warning me. I tried to restart the download to see if it worked, but after 1 second it fails. I'm using Firefox and  it has been this way for at least two weeks.

Could you please tell me what I should do so that this software stops downloading itself?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "VdHCoAppSetup - 1.2.4 always tries to download itself".

Is there any chance you have a tab open to the URL of this file (the companion installer for Windows) ? That would explain why the browser keeps downloading the file every time this tab is restored.

For example, I just booted my computer and here is what's in my downloads: https://imgur.com/lQlZFcT

I never tried to download it, I removed VideodownloadHelper from Firefox, I just booted my computer, yet this software tries to download itself.

Ok, you mean Firefox is trying to download the VdHCoAppSetup-1.2.4.exe file.

Maybe you once tried to download this file and for some reasons, the download failed, so you now have this entry in the Firefox download history and it stays there as it has not been cleared.

Can you right-click on this entry, pick "Copy Download Link", and paste the URL here ?

Then, right-click again and choose "Remove from history".

Do you get the problem again ?
