Hi
When I open Google Chrome, the DownloadHelper Website opens automatically in a new tab. First it was the site with the information to download the new version. Now the website says "Congratulations, you just upgraded to Video DownloadHelper 7.6.0.0 for Chrome". How can I change that? I find it pretty annoying.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

this information window should only open once, should not come back if you restart your browser.

Hi Jerome
Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, it opens every time I open my browser - this has been going on for some months.

Do you have cleaner or other addons that might interfere by deleting some config info ?

For the past few days, every single time I launch Chrome on Mac I've been getting a tab that opens and says "Congratulations, you just upgraded to Video DownloadHelper 7.6.3.3 for Chrome."
I am using uBlock Origin, but I added https://www.downloadhelper.net/ as an exception and that doesn't help. It's very intrusive. What preference / configuration file is used on Mac and where would it be located? I can check the permissions if I know what I'm looking for. Thanks.

I don't use Mac & I don't use Chrome. But this sounds to me like 7.6.3.3 is actually not
getting installed. Since the automatic installation is intruding on things, you have to
block that somehow. I would disconnect my Internet box from electricity or pull the
ethernet cable out of my network adapter, something to physically disconnect the computer
from the Internet. Then open Chrome & go into the VDH settings, which you will be able
to do in peace because VDH won't be automatically updating. Of course, you would
reconnect to the Internet after that. Then post what release of VDH it claims to have
installed. I don't know that I would be able to actually diagnose what's wrong, but my
suspicion is you won't see VDH 7.6.3.3 as being the active version. That might be a clue
for somebody else who actually knows Mac & Chrome. Then again, I could be completely
wrong, which is just what you would expect given that I don't know anything about that
environment.

Hi,

Could it be a saved session in chrome ?
Could you try to disable and re enable VDH ?
