Hi from France,

I'm on Mac OS. Since the new version on VDH was automatically installed, this message appears a the end of every download? Impossible to get a video anymore!

Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreImage.framework/Versions/A/CoreImage Referenced from: /Applications/net.downloadhelper.coapp.app/Contents/MacOS/converter/build/mac/64/ffmpeg Reason: image not found

What can I do?

Thank you very much for your help.

You are the first user reporting this issue. Where do you see this error from ? What is your MacOs version ?

The problem occurs at the end of the 100 % download of the video.

Both messages appear as explanation:

Would you consider upgrading your OS to a more recent version ?

Impossible to work on a higher OS version because it is an old Mac (3.6 GHz Intel Core 15) and all the softwares I work with are note compatible with a higher OS version.

Is it possible to re-install the previous version of VDH?

It is clearly not a platform-specific issue, since the exact same problem is occurring on Phillip's Mac OS and on my Linux 18.04 (Bionic Beaver) machine.

I think that Sid is right.

I asked about a possibility to re-install the previous version. Still waiting for an answer, and still blocked with the video. Very annoying.

Don't forget to setup Firefox to prevent updating automatically VDH to the latest version.

I doubt you get the error

 on Linux.

On Linux, coapp 1.2.1 assumes you have libsdl2 installed which might not be the case. Coapp 1.2.2 has recently been released which enforces libsdl2 dependency on the deb packages. You may want to try it: https://www.downloadhelper.net/install-coapp

Otherwise, feel free to share the error message you get.

Hi Mig,

The error on Linux looks like this:

Failed aggregating "[title]"

/opt/net.downloadhelper.coapp/converter/build/linux/64/ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL2-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Should I try downloading the earlier version also?

As i stated before, you should install coapp 1.2.2. When installing this version, it will also automatically install the missing library libsdl2.

I'm using Video Download Helper version 6.33 and downloading "media" type files doesn't work.  It has the same problem as initially noted in this thread; it downloads two files, one a tmp file but it never converts to a playable file.  I'm using an older Mozilla ver. 55.0.3 (32-bit) and the older version used to download well, but now I'm encountering problems with media type files.

VDH6 is not maintained any more, nor is Firefox 55. For many reasons, you should consider upgrading to Firefox 60 / VDH 7.

I found Webm files are downloaded to Temporary Internet files, in separate video and audio files.  If I get a video editor, I can combine them using a video editor. I'm looking for a good a free version.  Any suggestions.

As for updating Mozilla, VDH doesn't work with the later version any more.  That's why I downgraded to Mozilla 6.33 even if it's not supported any longer.

Hi, I get this same error, both the latest versions of VDH & Coapp, and with the versions downgraded to VDH 7.2.2 and coapp 1.1.3.
And I'm on MacOS 10.9.5; prefer not to upgrade at this point.
And, at least currently, there is no "CoreImage.framework" directory in my /System/Library/Frameworks
(If I try "ls /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreImage.framework" I get "No such file or directory")
Thanks!

Can you make very sure VDH sees the coapp as version 1.1.3 ? Check the add-on settings page.

I don't think the problem is that the library is missing on older Mac systems, I think that Video DownloadHelper is programmed to look in the wrong location.

I've been using VDH for many years on the same operating system (10.10.5 Yosemite) and once I installed the newest version, I lost the ability to download ALL videos.

Nothing had changed, except for the new version of VDH.

From my research, VDH is looking for 'CoreImage' at:

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreImage.framework/Versions/A/CoreImage

CoreImage is actually located in a different spot on my computer, which is:

/System/Library/Frameworks/QuartzCore.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CoreImage.framework/Versions/A/CoreImage

So...  can you please correct this so that people on older versions of Mac OS can continue using your software?

Like program VDH to scan for which OS it's being installed onto, or check the current location of CoreImage.

You're the wizard, I know you'll figure something out   :)

Derek Franklin is right...

I fixed it myself.. I copied the file from it's current location, which was:

/System/Library/Frameworks/QuartzCore.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CoreImage.framework/Versions/A/CoreImage

And pasted it where it needs to be, which is:

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreImage.framework/Versions/A/CoreImage

I did not delete the original, so it exists in two places, but that doesn't matter.

IT WORKS LIKE A TREAT AGAIN!

Hi,
Recently updated with license and convertor. Same problem, i'm on OSX 10.9 and don't want to update my OS that works perfectly.

Tried to manually copy/paste packages but i can't find CoreImage in /System/Library/Frameworks/ folder. Where should i look ? or Should i download it anywhere ?

Thanks for your help.
Seb.

Derek Franklin says the CoreImage file is located in /System/Library/Frameworks/QuartzCore.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CoreImage.framework/Versions/A/CoreImage . Are you sure it's not there on your mac ?

Hi Mig,
Thanks for your answer, i was in the wrong Library (user instead of system). So i finally found the CoreImage file and duplicate it to the requested folder.
Thanks again for you help !
