Extension keeps crashing mid-download and will not complete download

I usually have had no problems with the extension but now, every time I try to download a video, the extension crashes and the icon disappears from the toolbar and the video file doesn't complete and leaves me with a .part file. I paid for a lifetime license I need this to work!

hi,

we are working on a new release that should fix a crash problem on some videos, hope it will help. Can't tell you when but a beta should arrive soon.

Copying my answer from another topic:

We recently found and fixed a problem that was causing a crash with some HLS streams containing garbage data. Unfortunately, Google seems to block new addon releases (our last update has been waiting for review for 4 months !), so the fix is not available publicly yet. To make sure we are in the same case, could you confirm the crash occurs on the same videos at (roughly) the same position in the download ?

Hi,

It's been a while since update on this subject. I'm having the same problem when downloader crashes whilst downloading HLS video. It happens to the same video but not exactly sure if at the same time each time.

Please can we have a fix implemented? If this can't be done natively in Chrome, how about adding the fix to external app?

Same here, my licensed VDH will stop on this particular HLS video everytime at 27% download; but it does not crash, it just stops. If other downloads are running in parallel, they also stop completely. The downloaded video is available after conversion but is limited in duration to the stop spot.

Problem : I have access to this paid video for a limited time, that is my access will stop in 7 hours. So I guess no solution will come up before ;-(

Other issue for all downloaded HLS videos under OSX10.14, the converted mp4 format is not compatble with Quicktime but runs ok with VLC. Strange !
