I have been using VDH with a companion app and a licence in Chrome to download DASH streams and then playing them from my computer using VLC Media Player for the last 2 weeks approx. They were on Vimeo but private videos not lited on Vimeo only embedded into private website. VDH was working like a charm until last few days when after downloading and playing in VLC I could get only voice and no video. On some other media players while playing downloaded file I was getting super speed video first, then frozen picture and only sound till the end of the file.

I tried that on 3 different PCs and different media players with the same result. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Chrome extension, companion app, re-appling the licence.

I played with VDH settings and tried to download video only and it didnt work - I downloade the file but video was stuck on the first few frames played in indefinite loop.

Please help.
Thanks!

Hi,
I've got exactly the same issue.
Private videos hosted on Vimeo, yesterday I tried to download a video with no license first and worked like a charm, then purchased the license and dowloaded the same video without the QR code. It woked great for another video and from then it is impossible to download more videos. All I get is the sound. In the thumbnail on the Internet Explorer I can see a picture but nothing when I open it with VLC.
If I open it with Windows Media Player, all the images appears in a fraction of seconds and then I get one freezed image with all the audio track.

Please advise if there is a solution to this problem.
Thank you!

I'm surprised you say you have successfully downloaded any private, embedded Vimeo
content with VDH. Many of us have failed at that. There are many such reports on here.
Surely you searched this forum before you posted. That's what good netiquette would
prescribe. In any case, let's start our journey to a solution here:

https://groups.google.com/g/video-downloadhelper-q-and-a/c/BzPLK2YyL-s

Be sure you carefully read the first 2 paragraphs there. Once you have read that, you
can check out the references within that web page that I am about to give you. But don't
just find the relevant link & click it. READ the context around the link. I recommend
you bookmark that link & read the entire page, if not now, if not in one sitting, bit by
bit over time.

You find a reference on that web page by searching the text of that page using various
search keys. The search keys I am suggesting are these:

problem report
stealth quote
short tutorial
vimeo

Next, look for "problem report" within the text of that web page. That will give you a
link. Click that, read what you find, & follow the advice. It's not good enough to just
name a web site. Help those who would help you by specifying URLs of particular web
pages on which you are finding content that you are having trouble downloading. I know
I'm not about to scrounge around on some site I've never heard of to see if maybe I can
find something that does or does not work. Make it easy for me to help you. Neither of
you posted a proper problem report. That is essential to problem resolution. Please do
that.

Next, look for "stealth quote" within the text of that web page. That will give you
another link to click. Click that, read what you find, & follow the advice, not just for
your posts in this thread, not just for your posts in this forum, but for your posts
anywhere on Google Groups.

Next, look for "short tutorial" within the text of that web page. That explains why your
response here will use the Reply all button. It also explains why you will NOT use the
Reply to author button.

Next, look for "vimeo" within the text of that web page. That will give a reference to
read & a link to click. Carefully read the reference. Then click the link & read what
you find there. What you will find is a grab bag of possible alternative techniques to
download the content with VDH & then repair it, or to download the content with other
tools & not need to repair it. Do let us know how you get on with this.
