Thinking some more about this, I went here:
https://www.downloadhelper.net/install
That gives the links from the VDH web site to the 3 installs. For Firefox, that page
still says 7.6.0 is the latest stable release. That matches up with the Firefox
extensions site, even though it's supposed to show 7.6.3. I suppose the VDH web site
will get updated when Mozilla gets off their duff & approves the new version.
For Chrome, the page on the VDH web site says 7.6.3.3 is the latest stable release, which
does match the Chrome store. Give thanks for small miracles.
For Edge, the page on the VDH web site says 7.5.0.4 is the latest stable release. The
link there takes you to the elusive page on the Microsoft store that I was unable to find
via searches earlier. At least I didn't have to log in to view the page. Good thing,
too, because I don't have a user ID on that site. In any case, the Microsoft store does
not show version 7.5.0.4. It shows 7.6.3.2. So yes, they are dragging their feet
getting the 7.6.3.3 version onto that page.
It's too bad you can't host beta versions of the Chrome & Edge extensions on the VDH web
site like you can for the Firefox extension. Google & Microsoft are not exactly the most
responsive organizations. Especially Google, as we have been forcefully reminded
recently. Nor Mozilla, for that matter. But since the Firefox betas can be hosted on
the VDH web site, Mozilla can take as long as they want. We have access to the latest &
greatest version on the VDH web site without having to wait for anybody else to get their
act together.
