With a new version 8.0.0.0. the Downloadhelper stopped to work.

My Downloadhelper is turned on. But, when I try to download any YouTube-video, every time it tells me the same text: "No media to progress in the current. Click play on video to help detect files…” although I can see and hear the video working all the time on my PC!

This has happened after I got a new Video Downloadhelper 8.0.0.0. I have not been able to download any YouTube video!

I have Windows 10

Lenovo Legion Y730-17

I have normal wireless Finnish Internet connection Elisa Saunalahti  5G 300M and everything is working well.

Good problem report. Thank you. You say you have all VDH settings at default. The
default for the Download processor is, I believe, browser. This will not work on
YouTube. You must have it set to CoApp. Also, do a search in this forum for a thread
with the title "How to download from YouTube." That thread came into existence during
the recent problems VDH was having with YouTube. Most of what's in there describes what
you should try at some future time when YouTube once again foists some frivolous change
on us that causes VDH to fail to function. You might keep all of that in mind for a
future problem. For now, look for posts within that thread dated July 14 & July 17.
Those are important for you to know now.

Hi,

If you have detection problems you can try Ctrl+Shift+R to force a full reload of the page.

I'm having the same problem after the update from 7.6 to 8.0.  VDH does not recognise any media on YouTube, except (oddly and occasionally) four .mp3 links that don't work. (The downloaded file is 7kb binary file that VLC doesn't recognise.)

The particulars:

Video DownloadHelper
Version 8.0.0.0
Browser locale: en-US
Production build
Built on Fri Jul 07 2023 15:02:51 GMT+0200 (Central European Summer Time)
Build options: browser=firefox

Platform
Platform Win x86-64
Browser Waterfox Limited Waterfox 91.3.0

Companion App installed
Found companion app: VdhCoApp 1.6.3
Companion app binary: C:\Program Files\net.downloadhelper.coapp\bin\net.downloadhelper.coapp-win-64.exe

Reloading the page (even with Shift-Ctrl-R), the extension, or even restarting the browser has no effect.

I *did* follow the instructions in the release notes to reset the "video qualities" settings when installing the new version and before loading any videos.

Thanks very much in advance.
