RIP Video DownloadHelper?

This extension has been a classic for years, and regularly updated. But it hasn't been updated since december on FireFox, and since october on Chrome. Used to work on YouTube, and even OF, but it doesn't work or grabs corrupted files. Has Video DownloadHelper finally met its demise?

It's still going and it works on many sites, but some sites use either DRM or they put encryption on the video manifest and there is nothing VDH

can do for these sites. I suspect only fans is using DRM which means your out of luck there.

You'll have to wait for a fix on YouTube, no one has heard anything yet.

New updates have always been like that, it works on everything I try it on, I know the tricks and don't bother on sites that have DMR!

I don't download a lot off YouTube but I use something else instead of VDH if I need something. Add blocking is the only way to watch

without the constant interruptions of ads. There is also a site which is like mirror to YouTube, no ads and gets around age restriction.

We just hired a new dev and things should move for VDH in the next months.

Youtube is a new issue we are working on.

I have a couple aternatives I bounce between:

YouTube Video and Audio Downloader is a good one.
ByClick Downloader is really good, but can be slow. Bu I think 4K Video is another decent one for YouTube as well, particularly if you want to grab full playlists. I use these for youTube mainly. But still use VDH for other stuff.

Something new with OF is that they're making videos that can't be downloaded or properly detected through the OF downloaders. Too bad for folks like me who just keeps them rather than trying to go against the code and sell them. But I notice that with other sites as well, where videos take a matter of seconds to just have 100 something bytes, or 0 bytes.

Hoping VDH updates their stuff soon.

Looking forward to the updates, because usually when I see an application or extension like this not updated for 6 months or more, I figure it has run its course.

I'm currently able to download some OnlyFans video w/ Video DownloadHelper or VideoDownloader by 1qvid. As for JustFor.Fan, Video DownloadHelper can no longer download some videos. It detects them (HLS Streaming), but after download, it says "Error: MP2T - No data received". I've tried multiple MP2T downloaders—all for naught! Please help!

Instead of screen recording, someone mentioned "JDownloader 2" in one of the other threads.  I've had no issues so far pulling down anything I want.  Not quite as convenient as VDH, but far more convenient that recording. 

Hope that info helps until VDH is up to speed with the YouTube changes.
