Unable to install helper app on Mac Monterey

Hi - when trying to install the helper app on my Mac I get the following error message:

“net.downloadhelper.coapp-1.6.3-2.pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software."

"This software needs to be updated.  Contact the developer for more information."

I've tried right clicking then clicking 'open' which usually works in these situations but it still won't open/install.

Help would be much appreciated.

I probably should say that VDH is installed on Firefox and it's version 7.6.0

Look for the reference to Apple (string search on "apple") in there, click the link
you'll find there, & read what you find. I believe that will fix you up.
