Every time I try to download a video, instead of the video downloading, I get a popup asking me to install the companion. I HAVE installed the companion app several times now and still keep getting the same message. Can someone please help. I have also tried removeing and then re-adding the addon and re-entered my licence key.

Thanks

More information. If I try to register my existing license I get the error " Attempting to use a disconnected port object ". At install Companion app I have the error " Checking companion app returned: Specified native messaging host not found."

This is very frustrating. Thanks in advance

One piece of information  which is missing is your OS and what companion app version are you installing.
Important: when you reply delete everything after clicking show quoted text button.

I am using Windows 10. I think the best thing might be to completely remove the addon/app (including registry entries) and then re-install it. Any ideas about how best to do this ? It still works on a different Windows 10 PC so it's something about this machine

I have fixed this, I think. I closed all browsers then I uninstalled all versions of the Companion app using windows control panel programs and features remove. I deleted all the associated directories and installed VdhCoAppSetup-1.6.3. It seems to work but I am not sure it is working corretly with the XHamster site. Previously some download failed on that site.

Hi, I recently installed Beta "version 8.1.0.0a5" on Firefox and then was asked and installed " Companion application" But each time I try to download a video clip it asks me to download and install it again? this keeps popping up "Companion application required" Any suggestions please?
