MP4 HLS Stream will not download anymore

Hello downloadhelper staff,

After adding the VideoDownloadHelper extension to Microsoft Edge (Chromium, Edge Beta Channel, 12/03/2019) and installing the Helper application to a Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Installation, I find that .webm video will download with no problem, but .mp4 HLS Stream videos will NOT download. 

Not sure if you were aware of this problem. I had this problem with youtube, and other, sites with .mp4 video streams.

Please look into the issue and fix the problem. That would be very much appreciated!

That's behind the Pornhub pay wall.  You know the VDH folks aren't going to sign up to that (or any other pay site) just to test a download.  You have to stick to free content.

In my testing,the chrome version of the extension works in Yandex browser,Opera and Chromium browser which Chrome is based on.

But if you want a license in Edge then it won't be possible.Edge is a Microsoft product and they're building all their products or services into it not Googles.

A license requires a sign in of a Google account in the Chrome browser and payment made through Google wallet.

To have a license it has to be Chrome,it might possibly work for Chromium because there is also the option to sign in.

I also cannot get HLS to work right though I'm using FireFox.  It downloads.  File type is "File."  But no program can open it.

And both of these sites now have a new file format I'd never seen before: mp2t

If purchasing a DLH license will allow me to download HLS videos, I'm ok with that.  But when I searched what file formats are supported by DLH, I didn't see HLS anywhere.  And DLH's FAQs weren't any help either.  Seems like DLH had this issue with HLS a couple of years ago too??

I'm using the most recent version of Firefox, 75.0 64-bit.  And DLH 7.3.9, and the Firefox Companion App.  And I've tried downloading HLS both thru the site and the companion app.  I still get file type "File."

Help please? :)

I downloaded it and it played,so no problem for me.I did a quick download without asking for destination.Also with no license.

The license is only for conversions & aggregating regarding ADP or Dash streams.HLS streams are supported :

Video DownloadHelper supports several types of streamings, making the add-on unique amongst Video downloaders: HTTP, HLS, DASH, …

Perhaps you need to reset it to its default setup.Click settings and go to third behavior tab.Click the default button then make sure to save.
