Video Downloadhelper shows only ADP and low-resolution downloads in Youtube

Hello,
since a couple of days there was a change for me in the downloads of the Video Downloadhelper. I myself did not change anything, but only ADP and sometimes low-resolution versions are available in Youtube videos. I checked downloading in Dailymotion, but that gives empty downloads, 0 bytes. Normally when something like this happens, it has to do with a change in Youtube, and a fix is provided after a couple of days, but this time I do not see any complaints by other users so maybe it is only me having this issue.

We have no control over what variants YouTube makes available, VDH just offers the possible choices to the user.

Regarding Dailymotion, would you have a link to test ?

You say 'VDH just offers the possible choices to the user', but that is the problem. It ONLY offers ADP or low-quality video options on EVERY video on Youtube since a couple of days. If I look at videos I already downloaded before in high quality, they have the same problem, for instance, the most viewed of all, Gangnam Style. I am a very experienced user of VDH for years, I recognize it at once when something is changed.
As for Dailymotion, 0 bytes downloads on EVERY video there, for instance the first I saw today:  http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4oi2z4_passive-aggressive-cats-video-compilation-2016_animals

About YouTube, are you still only getting ADP variants for https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NN9w4_FtSk ?

Regarding http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4oi2z4_passive-aggressive-cats-video-compilation-2016_animals , it downloads well for me. Feedback anyone else ?

Hmm...same here.
I tried the test link and it offered ADP 720 but downloading produces just a tiny file that does not play

Hi Mig,
yes, same story, nothing changed. What I get with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NN9w4_FtSk  are the following options : 480 x 360 medium,  ADP 1280 x 720, 176 x 144 low, ADP 854 x 480 and 480 x 360 medium WEBM. As I am one of the very few (I know of one other person) having this problem, it must be something on my computer. I will remove VDH and install it again.

Today I removed VDH and installed it again, same problem. Pity, as there is apparently no solution for this, I am forced to look for a replacement for VDH after several years of using it on a daily base.
