I am getting the message Forbidden 403 and Download Aborted while downloading video files from a site. It never ocurred in the earlier Firefox version.
Can someone advise how to address the problem? Will be grateful.

What version of VDH are you using ? If you are given the choice, do you perform the download with the browser or with the coapp (if with the browser, then this error is expected) ?

Thanks. I am using the latest VDH 7.1.2a3. Downloaded the current version today. Problem persists.

How do I choose the browser or the coapp?

The error messages that show up are as follows in the given sequence.

Requested download of chunked stream, but no chunker found
Response code 403 Forbidden
Aborted

I think the problem is with a particular site Gaana.com. I could download without issues in the earlier Firefox version

Please advise.

Ok, given the error message, the download is performed with the coapp anyway.

I tried to download a song from https://gaana.com/playlist/gaana-dj-bollywood-top-50-1 and did not have particular problem. Do you see the problem getting the first song from this location ?

The problem is particularly with HD tracks which are only accessible as a subscriber.

I think the track you downloaded was a medium kbps track that even nonmembers can download.

Can you use the action "Details" and share the content of the tab that opens showing the details of the detected media ?

To launch the "Details" actions, pass the mouse over the entry in the VDH panel, a "..." sign appears at the right. Click on it. This opens the list of possible actions. Pick "Details".

Humm, can you go to the VDH settings > Behaviour and uncheck both parameters "Chunked manifests CoApp requests" and "Chunked data CoApp requests" and try again ? If you still get the 403 error, can you check them both ?

Have done the needful.

I have observed that tracks with no mention of kbps are getting downloaded without problems. Only tracks that display the kbps info are getting aborted.

Please have a look at the enclosed snapshot. The first five tracks have no issues. The last one that contains kbps info isn't getting downloaded.

What do you suggest?

The fact the bitrate is available or not is probably not relevant here.

Did you try tweaking the "Chunked manifests CoApp requests" and "Chunked data CoApp requests" parameters as i suggested ?

I'm afraid we do not have a solution here. It's up to the server to reject a request (code 403 means unauthorized) based on its own criteria. It could be that the resource (here the video manifest) can be access through the URL only once: Firefox accesses it normally, then when VDH tries to reproduce it, it fails.

I'm getting a slighty different variation of this (403) Forbidden Red Error.  I'm using FF 59.0.2,  and 7.2.3a1 (fixes 10sec shut down of Save Tab).  When downloading a video, the error occurs when using the CoApp downloader, and Does Not occur when switching to the Browser version.  It only happens, for me and another person, when a specific Server is used.  Both of us use the RapidVideo server on various movie or anime sites.  My example is located under:     https://www2.watchasian.co/segodon-episode-1.html

If you open this link, choose the 2nd to last, RapidVideo server (the other servers do not create a 403).  Do a Save either with the QuickDownload or Download to your computer Folder.  With CoApp, a Red box appears showing the 403 error.  Repeated saves of different episoids and Rapid still fails.  However, with the Browser version, the files download OK and correctly.  I've tried the other persons site (the 9anime in another post) and his fails(CoApp) and works (Browser).  I have tried to compare the File Detail when both VDH Settings get changed and thought Status=active and tabld>1, which sometime changed....might be an issue...no luck. Since the problem seems to occur with RapidVideo, one would suspect the underlying Server is doing the Block.  However, why does the Browser version work.  Does one version look or send different information to the Server than the other?

Mig, if you could at least see the error, that would help.  Now, if you do not get this error, then something else in FF is creating the problem.  Maybe it sees you as an Admin with higher privileges.  Since this may be only server related, I will keep investigating.

As to the other users on this same forum post, if you all are still seeing this problem.....try switching to the Browser instead of the CoApp.  Please report your findings!  Also, indicate what Server you are going to...  my files were only *.mp4 movies and RapidVideo server..... you all may have HLS or songs or something else.
