As a MacOS Sierra user running Firefox 96.0.1 and VDH 7.6.0
I've just recently started using VDH after my usual methods with MacX YouTube Downloader of downloading YouTube videos suddenly (this week) stopped working.
After installing the VDH extension, along with the companion app, and registering the license, I received failed aggregating errors as follows.  I have no idea of what could be causing this and what to do.  Can anyone help out a relative newbie?
Thanks so much:

Welcome to the group. As a new user, you will probably find this useful:

https://groups.google.com/g/video-downloadhelper-q-and-a/c/BzPLK2YyL-s

You might find some helpful links in there, at least for future reference.

Your problem description is missing one important fact: the URL you are dealing with.
Also, it might be relevant to know whether you are doing a straight Download or a
Download and Convert.

Hi, Willy!

Thanks for your note!

To answer your question, I since tried a couple of different videos, and actually, though I'm still getting "error aggregating" warnings the videos seem to work, whereas, initially, the output files appeared to have no video contained (e.g. when trying to import into Handbrake).  Not sure why things suddenly started downloading and converting more or less correctly.   I've also had some issues getting the videos to import into Premiere with audio intact.  At this point, I'm getting .mkv files as output where the video imports into Premiere, but the audio is missing.  When playing the files outside of Premiere, for example, with VLC, Quicktime, Streamclip or Handbrake, I can hear and see video and audio together.  But Premiere doesn't seem to be able to import .mkv files correctly.  My temporary fix is to output audio only from VLC or other programs, and import the audio into the Premiere project, drop it in under the video in a sequence, and link them together.

The process I'm using involves both download and convert from VDH.  I thought I was converting to mp4 files with H264 codec as specified in my VDH settings, but I don't get the properly wrapped results that Premiere understands directly.

As for the URLs I tried to download, here are two examples:

https://youtu.be/raD4ZK8Z4mE

Thanks again for any further suggestions, particularly in terms of the weird errors I get with aggregating.

Howard

Sounds like you're doing a lot of post-processing that I have no experience with. But I
should point out that it is quite common to find content on YouTube (and around the web
in general) that is delivered as separate video & audio items. So a Download & Convert
can very well fail. You're much better off sticking to straight Download. Then inspect
your results. You may have gotten audio only. You may have gotten video only. If you
do a download of something that has only the 1 track, the convert is doomed to fail. So
rather than just losing your download because it doesn't convert, I recommend you drop
back to straight download, inspect the output, & if it has both video & audio, which does
regularly happen, then convert the file after the fact using the VDH conversion function.
When you get something that has only audio or only video, go back to the YouTube page &
look at the VDH menu again. It may have the other track in another variant. You can
then download that second variant & deal with the 2 tracks separately after you've
downloaded them both. This forum contains many reports of people encountering separate
audio & video, both on YouTube & on other sites. There's a section about that in the
Table of Contents thread whose link I gave above. So how do you determine from the VDH
menu what variants are single-track items? You don't. It's down to trial & error. The
other track may be there, it may not. You may discover that there is a variant that
consists of both video & audio but it's at a lower video resolution than you might want.
In that case, tough luck. That's what there is. YouTube is inconsistent about these
things. VDH can't invent what YouTube doesn't give it.
