Screen Capture not working with live streaming anymore

Been having this issue for awhile now. When I visit a site that has live streaming video for instance a live nude model cam girl site and I try to use the start window recording/screen capture option it doesn't work like it use to anymore. It use to work just fine and would capture the live streaming video without audio of course. Lately when I attempt to use this option it freezes the streaming video, spikes my computers RAM usage and the plugin container memory usage, I have to start my windows task manager just to get the window recording to come to a stop cause it will not just stop pressing the stop recording square button and shut down with everything frozen and the high RAM usage and then the video it captures is just a frozen image instead of the streaming video I used to get. Is this a settings issue? Do I have to update flash again? Or does the start window recording/screen capture not support live streaming video anymore?

I don't think the problem can be related to the flash version nor to the fact it is live video (the addon just records bitmaps from the browser window).

Note that this feature is by nature CPU and RAM intensive. If you want to capture a full screen video at a high rate, this may require more power your computer may provide.

You can also check the screen capture parameters (VDH settings > More > Screen capture), in particular the Capture rate (frames/second) parameter and try a lower value (the default is 24).

The fps capture rate was so not remotely the problem. Yesterday I installed an older version of download helper version 5.3.1.1 and the downloading screen capture/browser sessions from sites such as Chaturbate and MFC work once again. Only video no audio of course. Only difference in the settings I can see that this old version has is MPT2 streaming but I'm not really sure what that means or if that was the problem. Not sure if MPT2 streaming is supported by newer updates or what.

There are 2 issues with screen captures:

• the screen capture (of a page region) does not work on 6.1.1 when e10s is enabled. This has been fixed in the latest development release 6.2.0a5 (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/versions/) and that fix will be in 6.2.0.
• in some situations (depending on the display drivers, OS/Flash/Firefox version), the video is rendered in the GPU and it cannot be captured on the screen. In this case you obtain a uniform grey/white/black video. You can try to disable the hardware acceleration in Flash

The screen capture does not depend on the streaming protocol being used (since the capture is done directly from the screen).
