VDH7: READ BEFORE POSTING

Video DownloadHelper 7.0.0, the first version compatible with Firefox Quantum (v57), was released on Tuesday.

This release does the basic job, but suffers a number of drawbacks:
- some features that were present in VDH6 did not make it in time
- a number of issues are present
- a very few features just cannot exist because of the restrictions coming from Firefox v57

Clearly, this version was not ready for production and it should have taken a few more weeks of development and testing before being released to the public channel, but there was no choice, it had to be released along with Firefox Quantum.

So, in the next few weeks, you are going to see some updates, bringing progressively VDH to be as good as it used to be in version 6, and hopefully, way better.

In the past few days, i have spent most of my time in this forum answering users. This had to be done to explain what changed and to discover and gather information on various issues. From now on, i am going to be far less responsive here and use my time coding and fixing issues. In advance, i apologize if your post remains unanswered: the answer to your question is probably in the multiple topics that have been created and discussed in the last few days.

If you want to follow closely the development, i encourage you to install the latest beta version of VDH from https://www.downloadhelper.net/firefox/betas . Once you have installed a beta version, you will be automatically updated when a new beta version is released. If you want to go back to public channel (official releases), just reinstall the latest public version from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/versions
