I am using a Toshiba 64-bit laptop, running Windows 10 Home.  It has 8gb memory and 1Tb hard drive.

I like the Video Download Helper but hesitate to leave a positive review until I can get this problem resolved.  This problem is a daily occurrence.

I hold my breath when I download something because if it comes back and says Failed, I can never get it to restart.  This is especially aggravating if the download has run for a long time and only has a couple of minutes to finish.  With some files I have tried as many as six times before the download will complete because the first five attempts failed and would not restart.

I would like to know what causes this and how I can avoid it in the future.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  If you need any other info, please let me know.  Thank you.

Here is the error message that I get and I get it even if I saw the Failed message appear and hit Retry immediately.

[Exception... "It was attempted to resume the request, but the entity has changed in the meantime" nsresult: "0x804b0020 (NS_ERROR_ENTITY_CHANGED)" location: "JS frame :: resource://gre/modules/DownloadCore.jsm :: this.DownloadError :: line 1508" data: no]

Since a few versions, VDH is now able to retry failed downloads automatically.

BUT, if the failure is due to your internet connection going down for several seconds, since the retries happen immediately, they all fail and the overall download report the error. We plan to allow a configurable delay before retries so there are chances the connection gets back then. This will be in a future version.
