Hi there! I use DH on Firefox (win10).
Since a few days, I'm trying to download a video from medici.tv (for free subscribers) and no matter what I do, the video get stuck at 75% and finally stops downloading.
Is there a reason for this behavior?
Thanks in advance!

I decided to try this, fully expecting to get a message that the content isn't available
in my country. Right at the top of the page there's a video of Gustavo Dudamel
conducting a concert somewhere, apparently in Paris. I clicked play & was utterly
stunned that it actually played. I looked in the VDH menu & it was offering me the
chance to download the video. So I did. It was only about 3 minutes long. It's the
beginning portion of the overture to Carmen. Then Clémentine Margaine comes sashaying
out of the wings & starts singing the Habañera. It abruptly cuts off when it reaches the
2:58 point. I would have kept watching if there had been more.

So I was able to download this without problems. It did seem to take an inordinately
long time to get from 99% complete to 100%, but a little patience was all it took to get
it to complete.

If you want me to try something more meaningful than this teaser clip, you're going to
have to provide a proper problem description, as you can read about here:

To follow my own advice . . .

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, Firefox 92.0 64-bit, licensed VDH 7.6.3a1beta, CoApp 1.6.3.

Thanks a lot for your answer!
I'm running Windows 10 64.bit, Firefox 92.0, VDH 7.6.0 (not licensed), CoApp 1.6.3.

The video I'm talking about is this one:

As written on the right side of the video: "This video is free for our guests". The video is 1:10:23 long. I've tried many times and some times I can download 50min, other times 52min but never complete. That is more or less 75% of the video.
However I was able to fully download this video:

I don't know if this has something to do with the license of VDH? I've downloaded longer videos than that one without problems.
Cheers!

Unlike so many of the sites on which members here find problems, this site actually looks
like something I would enjoy. So I broke from my usual habit & signed up for an ID.
First I went to the Bell/Isserlis/Shani concert. I was a bit skeptical about the variant
in the VDH menu marked AUDIO. As a check, I grabbed a manifest. It looks a bit
different from the m3u8 files I'm used to looking at. It looks a whole lot like they're
offering separate audio & video. Problem is the manifest doesn't have any URLs that I
could tell. Maybe there's something there that is a partial URL but I didn't figure it
out. In any case, it looks like VDH figured it out because it offered several variants.
The one marked AUDIO also has a video resolution of 1920x1080 indicated so I downloaded
that one with VDH. The site was transmitting this one to me in the 2.5 million to 3
million bytes per second speed range. Not the greatest I've seen around but decent. My
download lasted 22 minutes. I ended up with an MP4 of size 2.61G, duration 1:10:23 (as
expected), resolution 1920x1080 (also as expected), frame rate 25fps. Despite that AUDIO
indicator in the VDH menu, this one has both video & audio. The video bit rates are in
the 5,000kbps range, decent without being spectacular. The audio bit rate is 320kbps,
considerably better that what you usually see, which is either 128kbps or 192kbps. It
plays just fine in VLC. I've got it on now to accompany my typing of this comment.
Sorry to make you so jealous. My download ran to completion without a glitch.

After that had been running for a few minutes, I decided to launch the download of the
concert of Harding conducting Bell & Isserlis. This download appeared to be sharing the
bandwidth with the other. The 3 million bytes per second appears to be a per user cap
imposed by the Medici site, so my 2 downloads fought with each other for a time. Once
the first one completed, the second one got more service. This download lasted 22
minutes as well. I ended up with an MP4 of size 2.51G, duration 1:07:43 (as expected),
resolution 1920x1080 (also as expected), frame rate 25fps again. The video bit rates are
comparable to the other file & the audio bit rate the same. I interrupted VLC playing
the first concert to briefly check the second one. It looks to have the 2 pieces as
advertised. The whole thing appears to be there. I'll put that one on next. I have to
admit I'm not sitting here staring at my TV watching this. I look up every once in a
while but mostly I'm just listening. It's not an opera, you know.

I seriously doubt this has anything to do with the license. If you read the reference to
the VDH license in the thread whose link I posted in my earlier comment, you'll
understand why.

I don't know what to tell you. Try again? Have you never been able to get that first
one? It sure would be nice if VDH generated a debug log, as I've requested so many
times. It's frustrating to have one person say it's giving problems & another say it's
working fine. That gives Michel the excuse to say he can't fix a problem that doesn't
exist. He has to be able to duplicate the problem under test conditions before he can
fix it.

I really appreciate you taking the trouble to download the videos. Lucky you haven't had any problems. :D Not feeling jealous at all. ;)
I'm going to try to do it with another PC and see if I get better results. It's the only thing I can think of at the moment.

Well, what do you know.... It worked!
This time I used a much older computer, with Windows 11 (!) and fresh installations of Firefox, VDH and CoApp.
I don't know what to say. May be I need to reinstall Firefox, VHD and CoApp on the other PC and see what happens.
Thanks a lot for your help and sorry for all the inconvenience.
Cheers!

I am having endless problems posting something in this thread, evidence of which you can see from the multiple reports of deleted messages.  If I can't get my post to appear here, I will simply let it go into a new thread, which Google seems happy to accept.  I will then try to post the URL of that thread here,

Miraculously, I was able to post what I wanted to put in here.  You can find it over here:

I came across one of those "free for our guests" recitals today.  (This is as opposed to their "reserved for our subscribers" things which you can get only if you pay for your subscription.)  I decided to compare what VDH was offering against what I could see in the master manifest.  As far as I could tell, VDH was finding a master manifest somewhere the Network Monitor was not finding it.  All the variants VDH was offering matched variants in the manifest I found.  That is, the video resolutions matched.  The BANDWIDTH numbers were all different.  The numbers offered by VDH were all better (higher values) than their counterparts in the master manifest I saw.  That's not terribly important for a piano recital.  I mean, there isn't a whole lot of motion to capture when it's just a guy sitting at a piano.  But the audio appeared to be the same.  What I downloaded with VDH had an audio bitrate of 320kbps, which matched the best quality I saw in the manifest.  Just a curiosity.  Something to perhaps keep in mind for future reference.
