Updated to Video DownloadHelper 8.1.3.0, and now shows Companion App installed and License verified.  So, while the native app error has gone, still unable to download hls video, it 'pauses for 5 seconds or so' before the error

"GrabInfo: Cannot get info from https://(wbeaddress) failed: Error number -138 occurred"

I had a similar problem, after a lot of investigating I found that the firewall [Bit Defender] was the problem. It worked better when the firewall was off. I then changed the Firewall so that it didn't block any of the apps \program files\DownloadHelper CoApp directory. It hasn't completely fixed the problem but I can now download files a lot more reliably. There are still two problems i) The progress bars doesn't work and ii) Occasionally  the file just doesn't download

Hi Alksandr,

The new release is waiting for approval but if you want you can try our latest beta : https://www.downloadhelper.net/firefox/betas

You'll need to restart Firefox (all the browsers' windows)

If it does not work, please post here: https://github.com/aclap-dev/vdhcoapp/issues

My problem has been resolved.
It was associated with the previously updated beta version of Firefox 122.0b4 (64-bit).
Reinstalled Firefox (current version 121.00 and Companion app 2.0.10 successfully found.
